My bro's car is throwing Fuel Tank sensor malfunction code. I'm not sure the number of the code but thats what it was when we checked it.

Is it ok to drive? Or does this NEED to be looked at?

There are many different codes that the fuel system can throw. A precise code number and discription would be helpful in determining if it is ok to drive on. In ALL cases, if the check engine light is on, vehicle needs to be checked out IMMEDIATELY....yes, sometimes you can continue to drive, but the light is there to notify the driver that there is an EMISSIONS related problem....doesn't mean that there are other problems with the engine which is why they have full service tune-ups available, which check if there are any "hidden" cel codes. Have him bring it by our shop and I can let you know more whether or not it is a problem.

That was the first thing I checked. Will the code go off once it is tight, or does it store it and you need to take it off?

I allready got the code, I just forgot the code number, but I have the description.
