Anyone do Stall Converters in town?

Just like the title says, I was curious if anyone does custom Stalls in town. I bought a used converter and didn't really feel like paying $700 for a converter that I'll only use for a few months, if that, when used stock ones go for like $50.

Aamco does them I believe, Bell Transmission in Bismarck does as well.

What do you mean, "do" them? You want the stall modified? Why not just put it in if you are only planning to run it for awhile?

Well, if its cheap, it wouldn't hurt. I just want to atleast price it out. And yeah I want it modified to like 2800 or 3200.

I doubt it will be cheap..maybe if it was an old school Chevy converter;) And I doubt Aamco does it in house, locally, maybe I am mistaken though?

you may be right Nate, I'd call them and find out for sure. I am 100% sure that Bell does them in Bismarck though. A guy I know had his WRX tranny done there.

I asked that too. He's like we can order em, and I told him I can too, I was just curious if anyone was cracking them open locally, and hes like no. He probably didn't know what he was talking about.

Yup, I didn't catch em before they closed today, so I'm gonna try to get ahold of them tomorrow or Friday!

aamco = gripco, at least in my experience.

Bell did the converter in my Charger. They do good work but they arent cheap. I think mine cost me around 400 and it was a buddy buddy discount type deal. i think normal cost is quite abit more than that. its also possible that the price dropped cause it was 2 years ago or maybe 3 that they did mine.

Wow, Bell tightened my converter for ~$175. $400 must have included more than a stall adjustment? Tony, talk to JJ at Bell and tell him I sent you. :icon_cyclops:
