Auto xed some imports yesterday

Was at a Mazda Ride n Drive in the cities yesterday...we got to race the new Mazda CX-7, Toyota Rav4 and the Nissan Murano
Rav4 is quick off the line but has the worst cornering ability and smoked many cones with it
Nissan Murano has a nice ride and is a little doggy off the line but came in 2nd place
The new Mazda CX-7 was fast off the line if you spooled up the turbo and kicked ass threw the cones...I was suprised how a cross over SUV could handle when thrown into the corners

The prob w/ the Murano is the CVT and its learned tuning of the ECU. If you drive it hard off the line all the time, it will launch nicely, if you baby it/drive like a normal person it is doggy off the line....at least that is my experience. But yes, you are right, it is amazing how well some SUV's will take a corner...I was shocked when I bought my Murano having traded up from a RAV4
