Is this the Tintmasters sponsored weekend? Is this something that you (Nick)are organizing solely or is it being co-organized throughout the whole weekend? Either way, it's a cool idea. Just wondering. But if I do end up runing.... I'll probably be in the high 15-low 16 sec bracket.

Called everyone all the shops throughout the Midwest of people i knew, but nobody wants to come up as they had such a bad experience the first time, or they have something else going on. It's pretty bad to hear when they say your tracks not worth the drive up. But still working on it, and have to try discuss w/ the track on some sort of solution for traction. Obviously its not gonna be perfect, but it can sure be a hell of a lot better then it is now. IMO its actually pretty dangerous for high hp cars, let a lone bikes as it sits.

I understand you are setting up brackets/trophies/etc... but is this on the Aug 12-13th tintmasters street legal day, or a different day you are doing it?!? Just need to know what the plan is, and if it is on the 12-13th, GREAT, but I need to know.
Either way if the 12/13th or not, I will be there and will be in the 14.1-14.3

Gonna move into the 11s.

Ok, I'm confused now. Wes asked if this was the Tintmasters weekend or something Nick is solely doing. Nick said that he is "doing it on his own". Then Jason asked if this is the same days as the Tintmasters event. Tony said that it is the same days as the Tintmasters event.
Will these brackets go on during the Tintmasters event or is this a separate track rental that starts after the Tintmasters event is done for the day? If this is a joint effort between Tintmasters and SLS, and SLS is helping to pay for the track, I applaude the effort Nick.
I'm just a bit confused, cause I'm at Tintmasters damn near every day and I haven't heard of any progress between Tintmasters and SLS on the bracket racing at the Tintmasters 2 day event. I haven't talked directly to Jason or Shane about these races, but I'm pretty sure I know as much as they do about this. There may be a lack of communication going on.
Just curious.

Before anything gets out of hand, I will have to lay it down. We need to all be men and talk face to face. I don't think anyone out of the two shops is too immature to not wanna meet up and talk, but to make this ORGANIZED, we will need a few meetings. Is there a time Nick you are able to swing by and get all this molded together? Shane and Ron (track) meet on Monday, and they have something out of the ordinary planned as well. So before things get set in stone for ANYTHING, we all need to be on the same page.

It doesn't matter either way to me but it cant wait till last minute, so make up your minds!

(Quoting: Me in both statements)
"...
I have spoke briefly with Shane about doing a bracket style race day on the 2 day track event in August. 3-4 runs at the beginning of the day, then dial in numbers. Just like Rockfalls has done for years. Would that make things more fun and interesting to watch? Is it going to require money/trophies/prizes to make it worthwhile? Cause if it is, I would have to say it won't happen, as the track rental is already emptying our pockets. But if another shop wanted to jump in and collaborate with us and offer prizes/cash/etc... I think we would be interested in teaming up with them. The beef between SLS and tintmasters needs to die out, cause I am personally tired of the bs and drama caused by it. Competition is a great thing, but bad mouthing others is bad business...I know it and I think all involved know it. So the two options are: keep the drama going, or keep the competition friendly and help create events together"and
"...
Nick, I will assure you that if you invest in prizes (cash, trophy, whatever), and make sure there is awards for everyone from 8.99 to 16.99, it will happen. I understand your cautious attitude completely, but that weekend is ours, and at the fee we are paying, they will have NO say in how we collectively choose to run the day."I cannot find where I said we didn't want to put anymore effort or time into the track. I do see where I stated we don't want to add more money, because we already have A BUNCH invested. Whatever is decided MUST be agreed upon through us, as we are putting a lot of money into having the event in itself. We just need to be in the loop with what is going on, to keep everything organized and everyone informed... We don't want you to think you have to "run the event", nor do we want to invest the money and have someone else take all the credit. We are more than willing to "collaborate" with someone else, but it has been an expensive road/long time for a business to come in and 'take over' with us paying the track fees. All we need is communication, and this event can work out perfectly, with both tintmasters and SLS's name to be recoginized from the event.
