I'll also take the peace of mind of not having the vette spew fluids after some time on the dyno.

From a value perspective, the Z06 is probably the best buy of all the new performance cars. If you want a new car and a warranty, the Z06 has pretty good bang for the buck. If you want a new car and want to mod it (and risk the warranty), I would say the Cobra is the way to go. Just a couple of thoughts...

Of course, on the street and in a race, the warranty, how much you paid for it and any excuses go out the window.

isnt the cobra priced right around the EVO and STi price tag and more expensive than a regular WRX? I think those would be easier to get a little more power out of for cheaper than a cobra...boost controller, fuel controller, more fuel...? I dont disagree tho cobras do have pretty good bang for their buck same with vettes altho i am not a domestic guy especially for fords

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Isn't it true with merely different pullies, slicks, exhaust, and an intake that cobra's hit consistant high 10's? Thats pretty amazing...

hmm.... cobra: assuming some mild weight reduction -
                    3500lbs + 15hp from pullies (restricted intake/exhaust) + probably 40-50hp from intake/exhaust + slicks = 11.5-12sec
                    the 1/4 calc that i used said 12.16 given 3500lb and 450bhp
i'm pretty sure that with a heavy clutch, light flywheel, lighter driveshaft, knife-edged crank and lighter wheels (in addition to the above list) could bring it into 10s with skills... assuming it doesn't run out of fuel

Really think it would need all that? I'm almost positive that the tranny in the stock cobra should be able to withstand that abuse.

wouldnt it be more than 15hp for a supercharger pulley? especially a really small one?

i'm just guestimating on the gains from a smaller pulley. my approximation is based on how restrictive the stock intake/exhaust probably is; hence the reason that the upgraded intake/exhaust would free up that much more power.

as far as the drivetrain changes, those are just suggestions to free up more power and to reduce drivetrain loss, nothing to do with how strong the stock parts are.
