Hey, wondered how easy it would be to use a GS model Eclipse and turn it into a GSX by swapping out the motor and transmission. I may or may not have to stay here, (Sorry 97SlowGSX), so I am going to need an advanced auto project. Don't suppose it would be to easy seeing as how the GSX is an AWD. Anybody know what I would have to do in order to make that possible? As far as going from FWD to AWD...I suppose I would have to rebuild the rear end as well. Add a differential and another driveshaft...Probably to big a project to even bother with...Anyway, let me know what you guys think...I will have the update as far as whether or not I am moving on here as soon as I know. Really sorry about coming off as annoying or anything....Thanks again!

Well depends if you are talking about 1G or 2G. 2G non-turbos are different motors and completely different. Basically, you need a complete wrecked car with all the parts to make the swap.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

not worth the time or money. Buying a TSI/GSX is better and more economical than trying to convert a non-version.

If you're thinking about going FWD to AWD whether it be 1G or 2G, it's not worth the time and money, just sell the car and buy a different one. Same goes for turning a NT 2G into a 4G63 2G. But if you're talking about turboing a 1G NT, then you can just use all the turbo parts and do it that way, that's not too terribly expensive.
