    If it didn't have enough charge after 15mins+ off driving to even start the car, the battery is fucked. I'm not saying it should be fully charged by then, just that it should have sufficient charge to start the vehicle or at least turn it over a couple of times. Optima recommends charging them ON THE ALTERNATOR for 35 minutes to get a full charge and significantly longer if on a trickle charger.

      I love my optima and have never had a problem with it.

        FWIW, the battery won't hold a charge at all. Joel trickle charged it for me and it still didn't hold enough juice to start my car.
