It was a fairly uneventful day at the track today. Without the nhra license Matt was required to slow the car to 10.00 or slower. We tweaked the boost controller down and made a pass... Whoops, it ran a 9.85 @ 121 with Matt obviously letting off on the top end. We tweaked the boost controller again and we finally got below 10's, running a 10.03 @ 131mph. We tweaked things a little more and finally got the car running 10.20's at around 130 mph. We checked the logs and we were running just 20 psi of boost. Matt won his first elimination in Jackpot by .003 seconds, and then lost the second round and we called it a day. When we went to load the car up and hit the starter a terrible knock/rattle sound was coming out! Ack! We jacked the car up and saw that the flexplate was loose, something was messed up. We winched the car in the trailer and got it home and pulled the tranny, 7 of the 8 flexplate bolts had broke off in the crank, leaving one poor bolt to keep things together. I don't know why it didn't just all fly apart. We used a EZout and got the bolt remains out and this time we put Toyota bolts in (no damn bolts from Macs this time) and we should be ready to go again in the morning. Matt was still putting fluid in, etc when I left a little while ago. Big thanks to Ethan for coming by and helping out. :icon_geek:
