Bikes and 12th Ave North
-
So today I finally realized two things that really piss me off.
First off is bikers on the road. WHY do dumb asses decide that the sidewalk, which happens to be 4 feet to their right, is just TOO much of a hassle to bike on, so instead they bike on the damn road. If you're on the road you follow the rules of the road...AKA we don't have to yield for your dumb ass anymore...you are now a vehicle. As such you will also bike the damn speed limit if you feel so inclined to bike on the road, otherwise get the hell off the road and get on the sidewalk. I can't even count how many times in the past month i've encountered some retard on a bike taking up a whole lane of traffic on a 1 lane road, and then when they get to intersections they suddenly have the right of way that only pedestrians get...F*** that...queers
Second off is people on 12th ave north in the morning...HOW HARD IS IT TO DRIVE ON THAT ROAD WITHOUT CRASHING!?!?!?!?! Since school has started there have been about 10 accidents on that in the morning...what the hell is so interesting or whatever that you're too slow/stupid to react to the car in front of you? Just this morning there were 3 cars that formed a nice metal sandwich. Then to top it off you get the damn rubberneckers that drive by and have to go 1mph next to the accident to see if there are any bodies or what is going on, when it's obvious that everyone is fine and just mingling around their cars. People don't know how to watch the damn road and in turn cause these pointless accidents that f*** up the traffic flow on an already congested road, and then that already congested traffic congests itself more to look over every detail of the accident...HONESTLY...learn how to f***ing drive or get the hell off the road.
That is all.

I thought bikes were illegal on the sidewalk.....anyways simmer down. Maybe take a different route to school.Yeah i've always been sketchy on that. I've yet to see someone get cited for biking on a sidewalk. It's a better place for them than the road that's for sure. I also have considered the different route idea, but I have a feeling that in town will be just as bad. I think the main reason 12th is so bogged down is because 19th is still under construction so all the 19th ave traffic takes 12th up to the University then cuts across by the wellness center. Until 19th is back up i'm betting all routes in that part of town are going to be hell.

bikes are illegal on the sidewalk.
bikes are to be on the road.
but i see his point. pedaling 25 mph will tire the shit out of you quick... so what i am wondering now is what is the laws for these byciclist?
in my opinon, let them on the sidewalk. they are to damn slow on teh road, and like stanger said, they think they have the right away to everything. piss on them!
as for the accidents and shit... thats insane. I have been in my fair share of accidents, but in reality, only 1 was a dumbass mistake by me.
I tried doing some doughnuts in the road, and on about the 6th one, the truck went out of control and i hit a tree. OOPS. 9,000 dollars later, we are all good

i have been warned by several different cops to ride my bike on the road.
I dont think they inforce it to much tho...

hahahha.
Oak street up to 14th ave N, turn left and i run straight into NDSU

I have been arrested for biking on the sidewalk, it was a 6th offense with some property damage (street BMX), but thats besides the point.
It is illegal for anyone over the age of either 14 or 16, i cant remember which, to ride on the sidewalks in fargo.
As far as the riders go, look for spandex, if they are wearing spandex they typically know the rules and will follow them and will report your ass for giving them a hard time. If they are wearing flip-flops they probably dont know the rules and will ride out in front of you.
Either way, be curteous, 'cause some of us don't take shit from drivers and tend to throw rocks very accurately
Edit: I forgot, I don't know the law around here, but many cities have Bike ordinances regarding college campuses etc. granting right of way to bikers...like i said though, dont know about here
-
Yeah campuses you have the right of way no matter what you are, as long as you're not in a car...basically. Non of the incidences i've had involved a campus of any sort though.
I'm more than courteous to the bikers who actually know the rules and can not fuck up the flow of traffic. I will not be courteous to those who don't. And if they try to throw rocks or something they'll be needing an ambulance to get where they are going. It's not smart to throw things at someone who is armed. -

While never having to do this on a bicycle, on a motorcycle i've had kids come up behind me and open car doors to try to knock me off. I carry golf balls now. i see a door open on the road trying to hit me, they see a golf ball impact a windshield at 40 mph.
Also if someone threw a rock at you and you shot them, if anybody saw you you would be arrested pretty damn quick for assault, and if you were carrying legally you would probably be stripped of your right to carry, as a rock being thrown at someone is not considered a reason to shoot somebody. -
ummm..... if people are trying to knock you off your bike with there car doors..... they must have a pretty good reason to do so:eek: ..... and why would you even shoot someone for throwing a rock at you... thats just retarded... remember, your driving a car.....
run them over, lol

i do not condone any of that behavior:D

When I had my Motorcycle people fucked with me all the time. Opening doors while they drive by, swerving at me, one guy got out of his car at a light and tried to push me over. Didn't matter if i was just cruising by myself or with my girlfriend on the back, people were always asshats.
-
No I don't carry a gun, just 2 knives. The only time I'd have a gun in my car is during hunting season.
-
well hell even I carry two knives. i also have a concealed carry permit so you can guess which days I'm feeling lucky. Just remember something, before you decide to start hurting people on a bike for throwing a rock, never bring a knife to a gun fight. You never know who will have a gun and when they will be carrying it. This might be important for you to realize before something bad happens to you.
and yes, people are just asshats, people always try to screw with bikers. especially crotch rockets. I havent quite figured out why yet though. Maybe they're daddy didnt hold them enough as a child or something.
-
peddle bikes shouldnt be on the road, dont care what the law is. if i wasnt in a hurry to get somewhere and wanted to take my sweet ass time i would of road a bike. cars are for transporting people/stuff not waiting for bike peddler to slow down 2 blocks of traffic and cause accidents trying to get around them
my car gets something throw at it, it throws something back.................
THE BUMPER!!!3000 plus lb car + moutain bike = ur not getting back up to shot anybody

Only if you're caught

I have no problem with bicyclists except when they feel the need to ride in the road when there is a sidewalk right there. I won't cut em any slack if they are being jackasses either. Fine, run into my truck. Its gonna hurt you more than its gonna hurt me or my truckl.
