Guys, I just got back from having lunch with my cousin and for all of those who know where lunde is at, then you may already know what I was doing. I test drove the Ion Redline there and I have fallen in love with it. I want one so bad. I talked to my parents about it and it sounds like I am going to have to wait till next spring but if I really want it bad enough I can get it. Guys, I encourage all of you to do some research. It's the same platform as the Cobalt SS which means it's got the Ecotec 2.0L Supercharged engine with the five speed and limited slip front differential. Guys, I started from second gear and spun the tires on this thing. It's so fast. The gauges are postitioned a little wierd because they are right in the middle where everyone else can see them, if your in the car of course. The boost gauge is right on top of the steering column and if your in fifth gear and you slam on it, it goes from 0 to 10 psi no prob. Nice fast car. It's not that expensive either. 17K for it. Really really really fast car!@!!!! OMG FAST! It's got a lot of low end torque to, I am usually a really good manual driver, but when I got behind the wheel of that thing, it's so torquey in the low end, that if you get it up to two thousand rpm's, its tires are going to smoke. It's got so much power. Anywho, Just thought I would share that with everyone. Take a look at it guys, I definetly encourage anyone looking for a newer model tuner car to check it out.

Instead of thinking of it as a saturn, think of it being a Cobalt SS because it's the same platform...

It just scared me because we were right in front of the dealership and I am sure the car salesman was watching me. I felt really bad when I pulled up into the dealership but he didn't say anything so I guess he didn't. I know it ain't that hard, but I am really impressed with this car. It's worth the money if you ask me.

Yea, it would be basically the same car. The guy John from Lunde is searching for both a cheaper redline and an SS...But we will see what happens in the future.

I saw 2 here in the Forks...a black one belongs to a guy in my squadron, and saw a red one in town today.

and cold road can have something to do with it to. they are a good performing car for the price. But they arn't that fast

yeah the redline/cobalt SS are pretty much the same car. I like the SS more though. It just seems a little more comfortable. for under 17k, the redline definitely is a good buy though.

so far ive seen 4 different SSs in town so the arent too terribly rare.

yeah they're fairly impressive for a stock car, but not "fast" by any means...

you can also get the option for SS package on your cobalt that doesnt include the supercharger, its just rims, an exhaust tip, and badging, much like the RT versions of the stratus, i think what was previously stated as rare was the SS Supercharged versions.

the only reason i didn't like the Redline/Cobalt SS is because they have mesh from the factory and for being supercharged, they dont make a lot of power, but the TQ numbers are pretty respectable....i test drove an SS and it was alright, but as far as stock goes, i'd get an SRT4

^^^agreed. the srt4 will run away from it, and you could find one for cheaper. but go with what you like. you're the one that is driving it.

Hey, there is a sweet video on the news websites in the cities of streetracing because the media loves that stuff there, and most of the camera work was done from a lightly modded ion redline. It has the cool supercharger sound, but other than that it gets smoked by pretty much every other car on there. Boo. Get a dsm, a bolt on gt35r and fuel mods for it, and have yourself a ball!

I'd go with a ion redline over a cobalt ss any day. But what would be really fun is the Sky redline with the ls1 swap
