Why it's nice to drive cars on ebay before you buy them...
-
So I'm looking for a work/school car that I don't have to worry about getting dinged and to put less miles on the new car. I did a search of manual cars within 500 miles on ebay and found this:
(sorry don't know how to make that hidden and link it to a word)
Anyways I drove it last night. He was selling it for his mother through a friend's account on ebay. I was like hmmm 130+ feedback positive better check it out. The guy told me 1st gear was hard to get into. Well that wasn't listed in the auction. So, I decided to drive it anyway. I mean I'd probibly have to double clutch it and maybe synchromesh would help? Ya, never got first gear to go in. And when I got it to go into the other gears you could wiggle the stick back and forth 6-8 inches while in gear!!! Also the handling was horrible despite what he said in the action. Didn't really car about that tho.
So, I get it back and asked him if there was a special trick to getting it into first gear cause I used 2nd gear the whole time. Then he said well I think that is what she does too!!!
I would have contacted the other bidders on ebay but he has my phone number now. They're gonna be pissed.

wow, and I was going to bid on that car last night too. I liked the one I have so much already that I thought a 5-speed one would be fun to have too. Well glad I didn't bid.
But ya, about half the time the cars are honestly described. I have won many auctions for cars and gone to find their are very far from what was told. Most of the time I still buy them but for much less. Ya gotta watch out though, and if you can, look at the car before bidding.

not to bring a thread back from the dead but I checked the feedback on that auction
"Outstanding ebayer. Great to work with and shows positive attitude to resolve."
Resolve? Resolve what? Haha, hope he got a really really good discount.
