if u take in consideration the amount a of brownish/red fluid and judging from the reaction from the defendant, I would guess she had a very violent rectal explosion of liquid fecal matter

with miscarriage, you would again see all the signs of labor (aka pain like you've never felt) and the discharge generally in large chunks similar to the blood cubes that cooks use to flavor foods. the water would discolour, but much more slowly.

For a quick experiment, drop a deer organ into a bath tube, see how the blood disperses
