gas mileage

well since im rebuilding my car this winter im driving my truck everyday and it get 6 miles to the gal.:icon_thumright: its an 85 chevy 3/4 ton 35" tires 4spd it has a 305 in it (i know i know) with an edelbrock 600cfm carb anyone know how i can get a little better mileage out if it..

smaller tires. convert to FI and tune it, properly maintained motor and good tune up. K&N air filter

tuneup (plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter), make sure that your timing is set correctly, make sure that the carb is jetted properly, KEER YER DAMN FOOT OUT OF THE GAS

The last one is the most important tip.

There is no reason to convert to FI, just make sure that the carb is jetted/tuned properly

anybody know off the top of there head what the right timing would be?

There should be a sticket under the hood that says what the base timing should be. Otherwise I believe it is 6 degrees BTDC.

well i know the plugs and wires are like 9 months old and the filter is like 2 months im gonna go get a fuel filter tonight and time it so i guess ill see what happens.
