Thanks for the suggestions

you can get a turbo kit but without the bottom end to go with it your going to break something. unless you only want to run 5 lbs of boost. i would consider any combination of the following new injectors, fuel pump, headers, exhaust, new fuel rail, new intake manifold, throttle body, new ecu, ignition. the list goes on and on there are things you can do to get more horses without getting a turbo and possibly breaking things.

W/ all the things you just listed you'll probably see a 20 hp gain and still be stuck in the 14's for more than the cost of a turbo.
Who told you you can only run 5psi? I did a kit on a GSR that has been running 9-10 psi/low 13's for almost 2 years now w/o any mechanical problems. So idk where you get your info but you might wanna do a little more research before giving others false advice. The internet is NOT always the best place for information. Half the time the guy giving the advice is dumber then the guy reading it....

i know of two people one with a 01 civic si and another witha 99 gsr who installed these awsome tubo kits blew their engines off of 7 lbs of boost. im not trying to knock turbos theyre cool, but i think there are better options than a turbo being the first mod you make to your ride. also there will be more of maintenence associated with a turboed engin like using fully sythetic oil. i dont even have the internet i just use the computers at school so all i say comes from xpeirience

There ar literally thousands of turbocharged honda's running just fine... with considerably more boost then 7psi. If you just bolt a turbo kit on, have no prior knowledge of it, i can see them making a mistake.
Forced Induction is the way to go to make real power out of a honda for the smallest amount of $$$. Nitrous or Turbo... Superchargers are hella expensive... and don't yield the results that N2o or Turbo's will.

your probably right they may have done something wrong. which i find is kinda funny (cuz theyre bastards). but i just thought i would let others know that those things happen. i think its only fair to let people know of potential problems.

i used to work at the honda dealer in forks and was talking to one of the main techs about how much boost a stock d series could handle and he said that if the motor was in good shape it could handle 7psi maybe a little more depending on how good the motor was maintained. if there is some thing wrong with the motor or even something going wrong with it it will show even more. i know a guy thats running 10psi on his d16 granted he put new rods and pistons in it and went through the whole motor to make shure it was going to take it but it runs fine and fast

If you build a motor you shouldn't be running only 10 psi. If thats the case you might as well stay stock and get a good tune on it and it'll hold up just fine. Now this isin the aspect of you maintane the car and dont beat the shit out of the car daily.
