chevy big block swap
-
You'll need the flexplate and starter from the bigblock. If you keep the manual trans, you will need to put a new pilot bushing into the crankshaft of the engine going in there. Otherwise, the other trans should bolt up. Have you got the pulleys and brackets from the bigblock? the smallblock stuff will NOT bolt up. You may need to replace the radiator if youve only got the stock 2 row in there. You'll need to replace the radiator hoses as well. Oh ya, the exhaust wont line up either.

the big block im gettin is in another truck right now im just buying the truck and takin the motor and stuff and puttin what i dont use back in it and re-sellin it... but i wanna go with the auto tranny anything major i would have to do?If you got a complete truck, you've got everything youll need. But I know that the truck you have for the swap is a 2wd because they didnt put a BB in any 4X4 until more recent years. Be carefull of the fuel pump. It may create some problems.
