I started installing a CD player in my thunderbird today. I used the plug things that you get from Walmart so that I would not have to cut any of the orignal wires. So the Gray Plug is hooked up and works. The gray plug has Power, ground, and all the stuff it takes to power the CD player on it.

Now comes my problem, this Thunderbird has "Premum Sound" from Ford. So instead of having a 12v and a -12v ( 2 wires ) going to each speaker it has 4 wires going to each speaker. The Black plug is for the speakers it has 4-12v's and 4--12v wires coming out of it. I wired them all up and it would not do anything, like the amp in the CD player was not puting any thing out. ( This CD player worked when it came out of the car it was in and DOES WORK )

So I just figured that I would have to take out all of fords wiring and put in my own speaker wire to each speaker. So I ran one and it would not work either...

I hooked up my subs and they work with the CD player but I can't get the speakers to work, and one have any idea I'm at a total loss.

If any one could help it would be great!!! I'm free tonight if anyone wants to take a look at it in person.

You need to bypass the amps that are already in the car. Easiest way is to run new wires to each speaker. You can also by a scosch adapter from places like crutchfield.com

Nope, they gave me the wrong adaptor, so now I have to re-wire it. I have to by pass my factory amp is the problem.

huh? All you should have to do is pick up a bypass....... Plugs right in once you get to your Amp. Had to do it in my explorer... took me longer to get to the amp then it did to bypass it..
