i always thought that they are illegal. just from what I had heard. Here is a quick detector/jammer law info page i found:
http://www.007radardetectors.com/legal.htmRadar Detectors - The Operation of a radar detector and or laser detector is legal in every state with the exception of Virginia and Washington DC. It is illegal to use a radar detector and or laser detector while on a military base or in a commercial vehicle weighing over 10,000 pounds.

LOLI got one on 42nd for 53 I thought i was in the 40 mph zone 13 over but i was, according to the cop, in the 30 mph zone. There is absolutly nothing between 32nd ave and I-94, why is that a 30 mph zone!? Anywho 23 over in a "slow" zone BING 5 points and 150 bucks. Plus the asshole gave me a $60

The only things that i have found that radar detectors have been able to pick up on are the local major stores security systems and auto door openers.
And it seems like we always get pissed off at someone and call them names when they are doing their job and telling us that we are in the wrong or just telling us what is needed:
Cops for telling us we are speeding even tho we know it is wrong
Med Dr. for charging us a lot for medication and exam even tho we know we have the flu
Auto Technicians for wanting to charge $X for a repair job even tho you think you can do it for less on your own time
Restraunts for the huge bill after a nice big dinner and many, many, many alchy drinks -
That's partially true, but like the medical field example...medical things are WAY overpriced. Buying a screw at a hardware store costs what, $1 lets say. The same screw that would be used in a medical procedure would cost $15. Drug companies, doctors, and medical parts suppliers are all in bed with eachother and getting rich because of it.

Lazy bite me Chris, the renewal notice to my old address due to some error. I got last years fee to renew as a result, saved myself $10 bucks. Maybe someone could explain to me why in the last three years as my cat gets older my registration fees are approaching that of some much newer cars
