F*ck GoldMark Properties!

So Since I moved into my new apartment, I have heard nothing but bad things about renting from gold mark, but hadn't experienced anything, up until about a month ago, when I moved from an Efficiency to a 2 bedroom. There was lots of stuff wrong with the place when I moved in; The shower was useless, I could piss faster; the previous owner had a cat, and ripped multiple holes in the carpet; The carpet was stretched out; some of the metal shelves were RUSTY,lots of little and big things were wrong with it. I was promised they would be fixed by december first. Well in short, mainentance came to do another "evaluation" took stuff down, made a mess and left. So I called back, they said they would come the next day to fix there rest and clean it up. Never happened. Well last week my lock broke on my apartment, so I had to leave it unlocked unless I was inside. They came to fix it last night(they were supposed to be here the day before) and changed the locks, and didnt leave me a key! well Ihad to work at 6 this morning, and my steel toes and all my work clothes were in my apartment. So I drove back to my parents in Moorhead and stayed on the couch. Went into work this morning and got sent home for the day since I had no steel toes. So I will be losing 156 dollars in wages for today, plus my weekend differential pay for this week which is 71.50. I went and got my keys and told them I want a refund for lost wages on my rent. they havent told me yet whether or not I will get them. Do you guys think what they did is wrong? Was it a violation of my lease? I would like to move in with drifter extreme anyways, but If I can't get out of my lease because of it, I atleast want compensation for the trouble they caused me.

I think you should be entitled to your wages if it in fact was THEIR fault. Talk to your manager and just tell her that she made you miss a full days work and explain to her the wages you lost. See if they will take it out of your rent like you said. If it doesnt work say fuck that place and move in with drifterextreme. My brother had a similar situation with goldmark. He lived in the apartments over by cable-one in S.Fargo and he moved in and joined the lease with my cousin. The manager said she would drop a key off at the house the day he moved in and he didnt receive the key for almost a week. He had to climb in and out of the window. They gave hime the next month rent free.

I did, I was just trying to think ahead, anyways, I got a note written up from DMI HR and brought it to them, they said it would be taken off my january rent. -

you have to be kidding me on the skaff apartments... he buys his shit, lets it get run down and just fixes them enough to barely meet inspections.. goldmark must be doing something right if Rick Berg owns like half this town and has plenty of properties in other cities/states around this area...

I dont mean to sound like a dick, but lets say you own a house, and you have a repair man come and fix your automatic garage door opener and it doesnt work when you get home and you don't have a key...
lets say you left a business contract that was time sensitive in your house and you lost a million dollars becuase of it...
is the repair man really liable for you losing your million dollar contract bc you left it in the house, or should have you kept it with you if it were that important?
I dont know, it prob sounds like standard procedure for them to lock the door as they leave, you would have been mad if they hadn't locked it and your shit had gotten stolen you kno?
It sucks to miss out on work, but for something indirectly related to what goldmark is doing, i'm not sure if its right to press them for your lost wages... they did fix your lock and get your key within a fairly short peiod of time right?
