I don't want to come across like one other person on this board who only talks about all that he has, and how much $$ he has or how bright he thinks he is (when we all know its bullshit), but I've been lucky enough to see a few "hot spots" over the past 10 years...

    Sydney AUS (2x)
Hawaii - Oahu including North Shore and Maui (2x)
    Cayman Islands
    Jamaica
    Cabo
    Puerto Vallarta
    Miami Beach
    Key West

    Here are a few thoughts:

If you're looking for all-inclusive, you can usually get a good deal with Sandals, it takes some haggling, but they do move on price. If you're going to Jamaica you'll need to pick the spot. Montego Bay is fine, the water is good, but the city isn't too safe for clubbing. The beaches are average or below average. It was cool for my wife and I just to hang out by the pool and drink all day, so we didn't need a hot night life. Negril is a little better party scene, but the drive there from the airport (in Mo Bay) is freaking scary. The beaches are better than Mo Bay

Cabo has a pretty good nighlife, but the water isn't so great, its warm, but not very clear. Cabo is in a little "bay" but still, the water on the west side of Mexico is a little dirtier than on the east side. Plus, Cabo is safer than Jamaica.

If money isn't a huge issue and you not looking to party too hard, I'd choose Cayman or Maui. If you want to party, still be safe, and enjoy good clean water, and something that's not really expensive, I would suggest Cozumel \ Cancun.

    Good luck, sound like fun!

dont worry you dont come across like that at all...your input is much appreciated...money is sort of an issue not that big of one but yeah...i wouldnt be goin in the water all that much probably...just hangin around the beach/pool area...i want a nightlife that is available to me but if im sick or somethin(haha) i want to be able to relax without having to party. I just remembered cozumel last night and i am goin to look into that a little bit more...thanks again!

Is Sandals a travel company? Are they online?

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Gatlinburg, Tennesse, its always been a dream of mine to visit Cooter's Garage.

        "COOTER'S PLACE

If you love "the Dukes of Hazard" (and Americans of all ages do!), you will love a visit to Cooter's Garage. This is Gatlinburg's one and only Dukes of Hazard museum and shop, operated by none other than ol' "Cooter" himself. Ben Jones, who played the Duke Boys stalwart sidekick, is your host at this tribute to life in Hazard County. It features pictures, props, costumes, and memorabilia from the beloved hit television show. Just keep your eyes peeled for "Cooter's" tow truck and the bright orange car with the rebel flag on top and 01 on the doors! YeeeHaaaa!!

        Local Phone: 865-430-9909"

LIFE'S JOURNEY IS NOT TO ARRIVE AT THE GRAVE IN A WELL PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN SIDEWAYS, TOTALLY WORN OUT, SHOUTING ' HOLY SHIT.....WHAT A RIDE'

Sandals is a resort company - they have a ton of properties and are the most well known all-inclusive. Here's the URL...

          http://www.sandals.com/

I like all inclusives, no nickel and diming. A week or two ago I was at the MGM in Vegas and dropped $200 for a simple dinner - not my style, I'd rather have a burger and a couple of beers. Go all inclusive, you'll be happy you did.

          Have fun!

Wife and I and another couple did a cruise last January. Our stops were Ocho Rios Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Both places were ok but nothing too amazing but I disliked Jamaica more just because it seemed dirtier. The Jamaica bonus was that the red stripe beer was cheap there :-D.

We tried to get something setup with some friends again to do a Sandals resort but things fell through. Anyway, I think all inclusive would be the best, you pay an amount and then just have fun, eat, drink no worries. Unlike our cruise where only water and pop was included.

you didn't get an all inclusive cruise? That sucks cuz once you are on the ship you can't exactly buy food anywhere else.

I'll call it "kinda inclusive." There was a free buffet going on at all times and every night there was a very fancy dinner which was all included. The only thing not included was alcohol for sure and maybe pop.

Here's an idea. Get a truck to tow a trailer and 2 cars. Throw on my (coming) supra and DH's Supra. Drive down to Houston for Texas2k5 event, then head down to South Padre Island after or before the event.

DH and I talked about going last year, had the hotel room too, but he had to go out of town for work (loser). There are hundreds of high HP cars with several over 1,000 HP....

                    Here are some details:

                    When: March 10-12, 2005 (Thursday – Saturday)

Why Thur – Sat: We have to do another Thursday – Saturday meet because the road racing will have to be on Thursday. If we chose to make the road racing on Friday we would have to pay an additional $2,000 for the track because Friday is considered a weekend day and therefore is charged per the weekend rate.

                    Where:
Road Racing – Texas World Speedway
                    Dyno – Hennessey Performance Engineering
Drag Racing – San Antonio Raceway

                    How Much:
Road Racing – $200 per driver
Dyno – $35 to dyno, first person to send me money gets the spot.
Drag Racing – $55 per car (keep in mind that $15 goes to SAR and $40 goes towards the payout). Spectators pay $15 to watch, all of which goes to SAR.

Road Racing - Thursday March 10, 2005– We will have approximately 50 spots to sell for the road racing portion of the event. The road racing will once again be at Texas World Speedway (http://www.texasworldspeedway.com/) and you can see the configuration of the course at (http://www.houston-bmwcca.com/driving/tws/twslap.html). Once all 50 spots are filled, we will not take any more entrants. Cost for the road racing will be $200. For this price you get 2 hours of track time at one of the best road courses in the nation. When you send payment please include whether you're racing in the advanced class (been to TWS before on more than one occasion OR you raced TWS last year and your instructor qualified you to run in the advanced class) or the beginner class (first time to TWS or you simply want an instructor to help you until you're comfortable to drive alone). Deadline for the road racing entry fee is February 1, 2005. I need to pay for the track as well as secure a sufficient number of instructors.

Dyno - Friday March 11, 2005– The dyno day will be at Hennessey Peformance Eng. This venue will be PERFECT as there is TONS of space to park cars, rigs, etc... I anticipate having room for 200 cars, 4-5 Titan sized haulers, as well as tons of space indoors. The dyno will be available to read up to 1500 rwhp and 1500 rwtq. We won't run out of dyno this year!!!!
We have 30 dyno spots. Of the 30, 14 spots are reserved for sponsors. That leaves 16 spots, they are all first come first serve. Please send $35 to secure your spot. I will post on this thread as soon as all the spots are taken. In addition, Autobanh Motorsports (an official sponsor of the dyno day) will be on hand to provide all of us C16, 109 unleaded, and 104 unleaded. In addition, Autobanh will be providing NOS refills!! Autobanh's prices will be VERY competitively priced on-site at the dyno day!

Drag Racing - Saturday March 12, 2005– The track day will be at San Antonio Raceway (www.sanantonioraceway.com). We will be running the SAME classes that we always run during the drag racing day.

                    Class 1: Stock twins only.

Class 2: Single turbo OR stock twins with NOS.

UNLIMITED: This class will be limited to 16 cars (8 Supras and 8 Vipers/Vettes/Etc...).

6-Speed Challenge: this class will be for Supras only (8 cars maximum).

The thing that makes this event the biggest/best/baddest event in the country is the fact that we change every year to accomodate all of you. The biggest gripe last year was that we were hot lapping the cars. Well, this year, i've arranged to have the track for 12 hours 9 am to 9 pm. There will be NO hot lapping this year.

I love Mexico. I have gone there for many years.
                        I have been to:
                        Mazatlan
                        Cancun
                        Cabo San Lucas
                        Puerto Vallarta
                        Cozmel
                        Acapulca
I really like anything on the east coast along the bay. The water is very blue and the cities are nice. I always go to all inclusives, they are the best. Drinks, food, tips are all included.
