So I was thinking, instead of buying a new car, why not just work on the one I have? What I was thinking was taking out a loan of around 10,000 and just working on my car's performance specs. I blew out a tire the other day and the tire companies would not let me get any special tires. I had to buy "special racing tires" I settled on a cheap set of Rikken Raptor's or something along those lines. made by BFGoodrich. Anywho, I wanted to twin-turbo it and yank that pos automatic tranny out of there. What do yall think? Would it be better to just sell the pos and buy a better car that is already set up?

lol...racing tires. Why would you twin turbo instead of one big turbo? Yeah with the right amount of money you can make it fast, but your engine probably needs to be redone to hold boost, new tranny, plus custom fab and installation. It would probably be easier to buy a new car with a better platform to start with. But if you want to be different and unique, do it up.

Yea I was thinking of all that. If I really wanted to do that I would either just have to replace the engine in it's entirety and go with something similar like the 3000GT or just build it up, new rods pistons, rings, cams, everything....Yea, might be easier just buying an EVO...lol or a supra...I would kill for a supra...

Buy this. You'd be a fool not to. http://www.fargostreet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8954

Put $10 grand in your car and have something unique but still shitty in my opinion that is worth probly $6 grand tops. (Oh and taking out a loan to do performance mods on a car is a HUGE NO-NO in my book and most others.)
-
Buy a nice car with that $10 grand (or however much you want to spend) and keep your car as a winter car/daily driver. Then you have a car worth at least $9 grand (right after you buy it, it will depreciate obviously) if you buy a resonably priced car. And your avenger worth a few grand also.
So have a unique project that cost $10g and is worth probly $6g, or 2 cars worth roughly $12g's. In my opinion that is a no brainer.

I dont agree....its not about value of a car. He is talking about doing some mods. If he wanted to stay with a DD, he would keep and do nothing to avenger.

Yeah dude don't put money in that car...
You will regret it later on when you can't get anything out of it...
Even if you do mod it out, alot of that stuff is going to have to be custom and when it breaks... which it inevitabely will, you'll be stuck with a huge bill to front.
Anyway, yeah just buy a tried and true platform to start out with and go from there...

If he wants a highly modded car, then he could spend less on the car and then put the rest into mods. Or spend more on the car and then mod it as money allows.
Oh and he better have great credit if he can get a loan out for $10,000 to mod an avenger or personal loan.

they have a conversion kit for the avengers/sebring that you can put a 3.0 v6 from a stratus in and turbo it... or you can turbo the 2.5 if you have that...
