C'mon man it was a figure of speach. But, money buys alot and Mark is a pretty wealthy & powerful fellow. Especially in the auto parts world and if there's a way to get out of any wrong doing, He will most cetainly find a way. I personally have nothing against the man. Hell, I worked for him for many years. I actually get along with him very well. If you took what I said the wrong way then mark my words.... That's not what I meant.I understand the figure of speech and all I was just asking for clarification on what you meant. Any business owner can get away with anything. I have been screwed over by more than one company and its was all some BS reason too. Money does/can buy alot but Mark is one of the more non-arrogant and down-to-earth guys I know. Truthfully it wasn't the smartest move to tell co-workers that you were going to work for O'Reillys, Capitalj.

Hey, now that he fired you, you can collect unemployment off him!!!! He should have let you quit on your own.Not when you put your 2 weeks notice in. Specifically stating your intentions to work for the competition. His termination of employment would be because of insubordination and would qualify as a legitamate reason to fire somebody and would hence be uneligable for unemployment.

If by unemplyment you mean umeployment insurance that would not work. Unemployment insurance only covers when your job position was eliminated. It does not cover for quitting or being fired for cause.Edit:Weshole beat me to it!

I don't know why you wouldn't be allowed to fire someone after they had turned in there 2 week notice......and like someone said, in a way it is better to be fired cuz you can collect unemployment.

He actually started training for the new job today in jamestown. So he really didnt miss any work.

yeah i seen his cougar outside o'reillys today

Im back in town tonight trying to get out of a speeding ticket tomorrow morning, but yeah i didnt miss any work and Its not like he wasnt going to find out who I was going to work for when O'Reilly starts calling some of the shops in town my name will undoubtedly come up to Rod and he'll just tell Mark anyway. He let me go on good terms, he even said if i want to come back he'd have me. I do like the guy its some of the other guys I worked with that I had a problem with. As far as telling the guys I worked with about O'Reillys i didn't say anything until I had the job locked down so it wasn't a big deal.
