Moto Q questions

Just bought a motorola Q and I have a few questions for you smartphone/ pocket PC owners.
- Active sync wont let me connect unless I have outlook onmy computer. all I want to do is explore the phone so I don't need outlook. is there any way around this?
- I found a couple games but where can I find a bunch.

it says connecting... and then it doesnt connect and when I press troubleshoot, it says...
