SLS welded my subframes on and did another small welding job for my Cobra and the work was fantastic. I don't care if it was Rain Man or JC himself that did the welding, because the job was done right and at a very reasonable price, props to SLS.

Joel I don't see what your fascination with knocking SLS is, and personally if you had PM'd this to me I would have told you to get bent.

It really is nobodies business who welds anything. Jesus could be doing the welding and it doesn't matter as long as the customer gets a QUALITY product in the end. This isn't CC Fab, it's not one guy in a shop banging out manifolds hoping to make a buck. This is a legit business in a 10 thousand square foot building on main avenue that caters to everybody whether they want to go fast, want a set of wheels, or whatever.

If you want to be the best it costs money and takes QUALITY employees who perform QUALITY work. And no, Shayne doesn't weld the headers. 😉

Joel, if Tufte wanted people to know if someone other than him was welding his manifolds, he would have said so. If he was claiming to have welded something personally that someone else did, then that would be a little shady.

Do you have any proof of your claims? Anything to back it up?

If you come on the intarweb (as serious as it is) and start bad-mouthing someone you better have something to back it up or j00 gonna get flamed.

God those pictures were sweet. AND THEY WERE WELDED BY SLS. SLS IS A COMPANY WITH EMPLOYEES what the fuck do you NOT grasp about the concept of employees?

Ok Mike, well atleast we can relate on something here. That is the whole reason I made this thread. I am sick of everyone kissing the ground he walks on always saying he's such a bad ass welder, when all he does is tack stuff together. If it was the manifold designs, yes, they are nice, never said they weren't.

In the past on this forum, other shops have been badmouthed to death but OH WAIT, if anyone else says something bad about SLS, its not tolerated...

well the truth now come out for your intentions of this thread.....not that you really care who welds, only to bash nick.

what is your fascination here? Nick and SLS (as a company) has worked with us on more than a few projects. I will tell you right now there are very few people in this industry that actually manufacture themselves. Alot of times its stupid- why worry about welding (which can be done by an experienced guy that gets paid $15/ hr) when you can be working on new product development (potentially hundreds of $$ an hour). If SLS wanted to stay a one man show and have a cap to his business' value and income, so be it. If you want to grow, like most normal business owners, you expand, sublet, hire new, etc. You're a complete boob if you think that he should be welding ALL his own stuff. I honestly couldn't tell you if he did or didn't, but the end result is one of himself/employees/sublets produced a manifold that he designed and developed. Welding is important to the whole process of the manifold, but I would attribute 10% of the time invested in development was in the welding. Who gives a floppy cock flying fuck if he doesn't weld them himself? His company, SLS, has been producing these manifolds. That's all you need to know and worry about. If you don't like it, go buy a tig, a hoist, chop saw, and whatever other shit you need to do that and start making your own. This is a foolish thread and is absolutely unnecessary.

Don't deny it either, if you can't handel him telling you to fuck off when you PM something like this, then why do it publicly?

Your intentions are to rip on it, and why the hell does it even matter to you. Grow up dude. I'll leave the thread open in case nick wants to respond, but honestly its not even worth his time to respond to this bs.

PS until your welding is better then nicks, why are you ripping on his either way? I dont get it

Joel you have made 2 comments on this matter aside from this post. Nick responded to your posts (and mine actually, where I was corrected in what I thought) in the "Black Blurr" section. I don't understand why you are beating a dead horse. Whoever welds those products is someone who was hired by SLS to do so, so technically they are SLS welds REGARDLESS of who does the welding. That is all that matters. Its not like he's hiring SS Autochrome to make stuff for him, so please drop this subject as it frankly is noone's concern except those who work for SLS, and of course Nick's.

OH MY GOD, is this what Fargostreet has come to? as long as the product is good (not only looks good but functions well and holds up) i think it dont mater who welded it, well unless it's child labour and i don't think SLS is like that. With that said let the man and his business be and lets just all try to be the best at what we do. Ok kids dad's going to work now, be nice and don't pick on others.

WOW what a thread. Someone remind me what role Joel plays in creating, manufacturing and upgrading exsiting car products today?? Hhmmm...
Well I can't think of any other than puting some rust free civics on the FS market.
I currently have my 07 Apex there for a build in which Nick never thought twice about doing. It looks like a pain in the ass to me. But my point is that even if he doesn't do all of his welding he can probubly think up a turbo setup in his head like we think about tying our shoes (I know this can be tuff for some LOL).
Also how many of these performance shops pay any interest in you until you throw down some cash or show them that you are serious? ZERO. Its happened to me and I go elsewhere. Nick has been great to work with so far!
