Just wanted to know if anyone was willing to part with the following or similar cameras...Or if they have some 35mm SLR cameras floating around. Just looking for a good camera to go out and take pictures with. I am possibly going into college to major in B/W Photography so let me know what yall have.

Cannon EOS Rebel XTiI will consider any camera's should they pop up in the market. Just let me know what yall got if anything. :icon_rr:

as dubbsy said hit the web. they range from about 600 on up now for DSLR's, but be verry knowing of what you want from the camera. as many of the cheaper ones are just that. stripped down with minimal controls and features. and for my much smaller than i would care to hold in my hands. but they do not have shutter lag like the point and shoots do. so that is a HUGE plus.
good luck

i would say you are going to look at spending 600 plus on a camrea if you buy locally and a little bit less if you go online for the same model. nikkon makes a good camera for the money in a d40 but the xt and the xti are what people buy most of the time at the place i work and those start at 700 and 900 if i recall right...not to mention memory cards that can run another 100. if you shop ebay you can usualyl get a package deal for abit cheaper but again its ebay...i would prob recommend a cannon just from playing around with nikkons olympus and cannon. cannon seem to be the best all around camera from my experience and they tend to have the most lens and stuff available. best buy has a nice service plan that covers drops and anything that breaks....ya you have to eat another 100 or more when you buy it but if you ever drop your 900 dollar camera you not out the money either it will get fixed or they will replace it......some things to think about

Their service plan DOES NOT cover accidental damage, water, abuse, etc.

Not according to the 3 people i talked to when I bought my laptop. They all claimed the warranty will cover if i spill on it, drop it..... they said pretty much anything but shooting it. It was an extra charge over the base warranty, but i thought it would be worth it.
