Braid Rims

A sponsor from one of the boards I am on has the opportunity to order some custom rims from the UK. The brand is Braid. Has anyone heard of this brand? The rims that I am looking at are about $350 a rim and about $700 for shipping from the UK. The size is 17x8.5 4x114.3 with whatever offset I want. Is it even worth purchasing? I want some meatier tires in the back, but finding 4x114.3 is kinda to find in staggered sizes.
