Retreads for cars?
-
Boy oh boy. I just went out front and my drivers side front tire is completely flat on the grand marquis. I musta picked something up on the road. My question is, is there anywhere to get retreads for passenger cars here in fargo? My friends dad always had them on thier family cars so I know they are made, I just don't know where to get them. If not, are there any good tire stores around that won't charge an arm to sell and mount a standard family car tire?

Why wouldn't you? Brand new tread to OEM spec or better, prolly better than the 'cheap' new ones you can get. The government uses pretty much all retreads on their vehicles, I think it's a requirement actually, and they run thousands of miles on them through all weather. I'll take a look though at new ones just the same.

I believe it is illegal to run ANY retread tire on ANY STEER axle on any weight vehicle (four wheelers to Kenworth)- kid safe, DOT approved. There are very few companies that offer retreads for pass car tires- your existing tire has to be able to be compatible with a retread- which I am sure it is NOT. No, the gov't does NOT use retreads on any pass car period. They spend $80 on hammers, why the fuck wouldn't they buy new tires?:icon_scratch:

The goodyear here in Fargo used but doesn't do passenger car retreads anymore.

your tire for the Marquis is extremely common and decently priced. stop by Tires Plus and we'll take care of you. Or go see my boys at West Fargo Car Clinic at 100 West Main in West Fargo. Tell them Ryan sent ya.
