Notice how none of the owners of these cars have a problem associating their vehicles with the base model, yet SRT-4 owners get all pissy when someone calls their car a Neon.

I think people get all mad when they call them neons because they are not all that appealing to the younger audience unless they are the SRT-4 version. I am almost willing to bet that dodge made the SRT-4 to boost the neon's sales. I sure wouldn't just buy any old neon unless it were SRT...
