Subaru question
-
A friend of my wife's has a Outback wagon, its like a 97 or 98. Well she just called me eariler and was wondering what to do beacuse her car was overheating. She said the temp needle was pegged on hot. Said the coolant resivore was still full, but she has no heat, so I am guessing their is a air pocket in the system preventing circulation. Also she said for the past week or so the car has smelled hot, but the temp gauge was normal, today was the first time it overheated.
any ideas why it would get air in the system, anyhting in specific I should check, I am not a subaru guy, so know little to nothing about them.

first hit on google for "outback overheating" led me to this page which didn't look promising:

There were a bunch more you might want to look at though, I gotz to get some sleepy.
If the motor's never been touched I'd be willing to bet a little money on the water pump taking a crap, but who the hell knows. Sucks trying to figure out that sh*t when it could be a few different things.
