Just got a few mods done. I did end up tinting my own tails, way easier than I thought. They did get a little darker than I thought, but they will lok even better when I get the windows tinted. I got clear signal bulbs for the rear blinkers. I think they look good so that's all that matters. I got some new white headlights, which look very good too. I got my Blitz dual turbo timer installed at Roadsounds, they did an excellent job and were very profesional, cheaper than tintmasters too. Nothing against tintmasters, they're the ones that gave me a deal on teh turbo timer. That's about it for now.

wow, i don't have a show car with a $20, 000 paint job here. I just started this thread cuz I was bored at work, not to revolutionize the car detailing industry.

When I got my passat I took regular dish soap to it to get all the wax and other carwash build-up off of it. I then took a clay bar and did the whole car over which i put a layer of carnuba turtle wax. Smoothest paint i've felt in my life

^^^exactly, i asked tintmasters if they would darken my tails for me but they said no, so it looks like i'm on my own. I also stopped at advanced auto to get an estimate on getting my lowers painted. the guy said he wouldn't do it, said it would chip off right away. He said you can't paint plastic and have it stick. maybe he was talking about different kinds of plastic because i've noticed that paint sticks to Saturns. Oh well, i'll find someone to do it.

i think the taillights look good darkened up a little bit. i'm gonna have tintmasters do it. i was maybe even thinking about getting a red tint over just the red areas of the light just to make it more cherry red instead of all bright red. i don't know, whatever i do i'm gonna make sure it's reversible

This car is my inspiration, except the body kit. I'm just gonna paint the lower plastic.

the passat is a 1.8 turbo gasoline, 170 horse, 7.5 to 60, not breathtaking but not as slow as my old 1993 accord.

i don't know what else to do with the tails. I don't want to tint them so dark they look like tail-light covers. I don't want to look like i'm driving an eighties camaro. i want a little bit of tint just to make them a little different from stock. i don't know, maybe not

when i was on my internship at West Fargo PD last summer they all agreed that neon is ok as long as the bulbs themselves aren't visible. They didn't say anything about the color so I don't know.

I saw a silver B5 Passat filling gas at the stationon 8th Ave N and University the other day. I think that's the first pimped Passat I've seen in Fargo. I stopped to talk but she drove away. Let me know if you know who that was. She had it lowered on black 17" or 18" rims. Looked like sex.

Just got myself a 2001.5 Passat turbo. Love the car but I need to start moddin it so it doesn't look like everyone's aunt's car. I just bought my first part for it. A black blank grill. Looks good but lonely. I will be getting a set of black angel eye headlights in a couple weeks and from tehere I need to lower it get a lip spoiler, tint the windows and find some decent rims. I think i'm gonna wait with the lowering and rims until spring.

Just wondering what you guys think about tinting my taillights. I cannot find any aftermarket tails for a B5.5.
