There's a guy named Steve who lives at 410 21st in Fargo (I think that's the address, it's the last house before a big stretch of empty grass going south). I contacted him about an ad on craigslist for Compaq laptops, and he had a bunch of stuff available. For my 14.1" with an AMD Turion ml32 and 512 ram, I spent $200, and the same price for a variation of the same model with an Intel Pentium M. He's a pretty hip guy, you could probably stop by in the afternoon and find him at home.

Thanks for the replies guys. Luckily I got a buddy who fixes computers. Mine actually had a broken solder on the main board that he fixed, so the old mule is working again. He also had an older mule that had a serial port, so I am going to borrow that for now.
