One issue people up here have when thinking of $250K/yr income is that 250K is NOTHING in cities like LA/NY. Just a quick comparison, families making $250K in SanFran would only need $135K here to maintain the same living style (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/movecalc.asp?a=0&d1=250000&d2=173.637575043401&d3=93.7512824653305) Now imagine other places like LA, Manhattan, parts of Texas, Florida, etc etc. These are large populations that require a LOT more money to maintain the same lifestyle as they would here...
