day of illegal leeches

This protest is stupid, only two Hispanics showed up for work today at RainForest, so I had to bus tables today. This is like some stranger sneaking into your house and started cleaning it, and asking you to stay.
BTW...Schell, I hope Canada deports your ass.

agreed. just get a damn license to be here
-
yup, same argument from my side of the aisle here too kirk, either come here legally and starting the "melting pot" process or go home. If you want to come here, learn the rules/way of life that makes this country the GREAT nation it is. I'm not saying forget your roots in Mexico/wherever. I'm proud of my German heritage as well, but my family learned to speak English, why can't theirs?
Again, I am not against immigration if done legally, just not fond of illegals thinking that they are entitled to the same legal rights as american citizens.

They DON'T have any rights in my eyes. Besides the right to a swift kick in the ass all the way back ti their home country. This whole ordeal has really struck a nerve with me. I agree that our govt made this bed but I also dont think that just putting everything aside and making them citizens is the right answer. I say just deport them all. And as far as what they say in their defense "we do the work that noone else will", that will change as soon as the slave drivers pay people what their time and effort is worth. The only reason that the illegal immigrants have employment is that they work for alot less than a real citizen does.
-
i am in total agreement with this.....whats the best thing about having a large protest of illegal immagrants?? that for just $5 dollars an hour they will clean then entire area afterwards! (have to give props to the daily show for that one)
-
what I don't understand is this, if we had a bunch of them rounded up into one spot for a protest, could we not just have INS come in and deport the illegals on the spot?
-
i thought of that to.
get the amazing racist there to to crack a few jokes.

You guys are sort of missing the point. They're here already. Been here for years, probably decades. They didn't just recently all flood here. They pay sales taxes when they buy things just like you and I. Now I am not saying it is right for them to be here, but what I'm trying to get at is that they are really sticking their heads out there with the risk of being deported to make a statement.
Think about that for a second. Their home countries are probably shittier than shit, and they probably had a gruesome ordeal making their way here to the United States. Now they are throwing it all away? It probably is a pretty big issue. Things are probably really tough for them, and all legality aside it's hard not to feel bad if you really get to know their situation.
I say give them a bit of leeway here, shut down the borders tight so no more can come in, and then make the legal immigration process a little easier so they don't have to avoid the law.
You don't know what it's like to live in fear.
-
To say that we should give them leeway is complete stupidity. It's true that their home countries suck so they "illegaly" enter the USA. They then think that they have certain rights because they are here now. How fair is that to real immigrants that have come over to America legally and jumped through all the hoops to do so. (I know of at least one that frequents this site). I think they should count their blessings that they haven't been caught and deported and not look a gift horse in the mouth so-to-speak. They have been getting away with being in our country for countless years because noone has made big waves and our govt. has had bigger fish to fry. Bt now that it's out in the open, I don't think they have too good of a chance of getting what they want. The law is the law and I expect that eventually, it will be enforced.
-
People try blowing this whole situation into a "if you don't give them some leeway you're racist" it seems, which really pisses me off and i'm sure you others as well. The whole situation can be boiled down to this....If they want to be here so bad then they should be willing to get here legally. If not then it basically seems they're too lazy to go through the legal process of becomming a citizen and are breaking the law from day 1 hour 1 second 1 of entering this country. Too lazy to come here legally then stay the hell out.
Another thing that pisses me off is that they have more rights than citizens when it comes to breaking the laws and soforth too. I don't remember the situation but our Gov/Econ teacher was talking about it recently and it's absolutly retarded what they can get away with vs. what a citizen would be punished with.

let's just burn up the entire bill of rights while we're at it. None of them have the right to be here without getting approved by whoever does that shit and getting a license. again, nobody has said if theyre here LEGALLY, they don't mind them in the country. But me, along with many others know that theyre here illegally...doesn't roll right. -
i totaly agree with you. especailly when some off the tax money we pay goes to them.
but on the other hand out on the dairy farms for example where i am from the illegals are some of the hardest workers that are there because they know what its like to not have money and any rights. one summer i was out there for a month and there were 5 people sent back to mexico in less then a month from a community of less then 300. so the gov is doing something about it.

My dad works for CIS/INS by the way. He deals with these cases all the time.
Anyways some of you don't seem to realize how long it actually takes to be admitted into the US legally. 10-20 years, this is not even an exaggeration. Alot of the time with these people, by the time they make it to the US they're in their late middle ages and have immense problems finding a job due to not only age but langauge barrier. Sometimes it seems more worth it to sneak in and then seek citizenship later on. Sometimes they probably won't survive in their native country very long and it becomes an act of desperation.
I really don't think this has anything to do with racism at all. And I am not saying illegal immigration is right at all. Nor that these people should be given complete amnesty. I am simply saying that there is another side to this story above face value that some people should consider before they are so quick to judge.
These are people, too.
PS Illegal immigrants don't get off light. I mean yeah they don't get flogged or anything, but they do get deported with no future chance of ever getting back in and also tried for the crime in their own country.
And also they get ZERO tax money. They don't have a tax return. They cannot apply for food stamps. They cannot apply for financial support. They get nothing from us.
-
they dont get a tax return because they dont pay taxes. they do not get food stamps because they dont have a social security number. It takes balls to come here illegally then protest because they are in danger of being sent back. They knew what they were doing was illegal, and now they are afraid of the consequences? I say too bad. The only reasons there are programs such as financial aid and food stamps is because we pay taxes, thats why the title of this thread is appropriate.

jobs...
..they dont pay taxes for those jobs either

None of which excuses them for coming here illegally nor does it mean that we have to be leanient on them. The cold hard fact is that there are alot of not so desireable countries out there that their citizens want out of but the USA only has so much room and just turning the cheek to the illegal immigrants already here would only make it more likely that more and more immigrants would enter here illegally. You can't take them all in and the legal process is set in place to make sure the already overcrouded areas where these immigrants live (for the most part)don't get anymore overcrowded. (theres other reasons as well).
Not to sound so selfish and heartless here. But if we let this happen and let them get away with it, the problem will get alot worse. And a good portion of illegals that are here are also homeless. We already have a homeless problem as it is. Lets not make it worse.

My family had to change their damn name to get into this country, the least they can do is register as legal immigrants. I have no problems with them at all being here, as long as they legal. In fact, I find myself a lot of times thinking higher of Hispanics/Mexicans than most people. Don't get me wrong, they are hard workers, but please do it legally like the rest of us had to do. I do give them credit for their work because generally it is top notch. IDK I don't think they really see the big picture.
Edit: We had to change our name because it wasn't "American" enough...I know it was more common than people think. How many have really looked into their heritage and traced their last name to the home country?

Terrible.
Obviously for the most part indirectly affecting North Dakota, but fuck the racist card, and that garbage.
So its ok for 600,000 Russains to come here, work for 10years and then just protest for equality because they came here illegally and have no rights to begin with? Lets just open boarders for all freeloaders. On top of paying for a war on terror, $3 a gallon for gas, I really get sick to my stomach thinking about the fact that I am paying for illegal imigrants and there freaking childeren that are born here that are now legal by default, who shouldnt be here in the first damn place.
Horrid.
