depends who you talk to.. which is exactly why I ask.

Deffinite trend between the import guys and domestic guys. Import guys seem to try and put as narrow of tire as possible on wide wheels (I personally think those tires on Jim's wheels are WAY too narrow). Domestic guys (atleast in everything I've seen) try to stuff as much tire as possible on any wheel. I've got a buddy with 275 BFG Drags on a 7" wheel (they're a tall tire on a 15" wheel, enough sidewall to make them 'safe' for a strip only wheel). We'd be putting 295s on a 9.5 wheel (or atleast trying).

I can't believe some of those tires stay on there (going narrow) and don't break loose the bead when driven hard. Not to mention, you put enough tire on the car and you'll protect the rim of the wheel from damage a lot better.

i have a 235 on a 9.5'' wheel and its STRETCHED...it wasn't by choice or anything but it is on there...Jim cant put a bigger tire on there because it will rub...he needs to roll the fender if he does that...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

                      I have a 245 on it.

The general consensus on a 9.5 for most of the bmw guys is 245-275...

The M3's have a crazy offset +20 on the rears, so they have no problem tucking a big tire.

My car has less area to move around in the rear, so I have to run a skinnier tire, although I would have ideally like to run a 265...

It's OK though, i don't plan on driving it too hard or anything...
