I dunno, I have sound engineers that I work with on a daily basis that always use the lowest price wire that still meets the minimum specs for their jobs...they swear up and down that you cannot hear a difference in wire. As do guys like David Navone, Richard Clark, Nigel Lowe, Tom Gazda, Dave Rivera, Alma Gates, Mark Eldridge, Derek Lee....you know, a bunch of nobodies in the world of car audio.

Jerome has competed in IASCA, he knows his crap there too. But, IASCA, USAC and MECA have all eliminated RTA testing and noone tests with an oscilloscope so again, you cannot hear wire. Period.

I was in a band named WIRE. You could definitely hear us if you drove by during practice.

tjamz is correct, you cannot hear wire. As long as it is sized correctly for the job, there is no difference between 12ga monster speaker wire and 12ga romex for speaker wire.

Other than you don't wanna use solid core wire in a high vibration environment.(ie cars)
