well i fixed the dsm replaced the wastegate and the oil drain witch stoped my oil leak. And i was diving it around a little and it ran fine. So on my way home from a freinds house i babied it the hole way. well at the light by 32 nd and university i got on it alittle in first to 5500 rpm then slowly shifted and then to 5000 rpm in second. well as i got to 5 grand in made a slight pop, then it made a ziziziziziziz sound like maybe the timing belt snaped. imediatly i let off and the oil light came on quickly so i turned the car off and coasted to a stop. i poped thew hood and the timing belt was fine. I then noticed that the exhaust manifold in the middle by the bolt holes for the turbo it was glowing red.I have no knowledge of what might have gone wrong so if anyone knows what it could be....lmk thanks in advance
Manifold glowing red isn't uncommon, they do get that hot.

ry...is there a good chance the turbo broke causing the drop in oil pressure?
Also tufte I didn't think it would glow from just normal driving but then again i've never owned a turbo car. can you be a little more explanitory as to what might have happend. if you don't want to i understand...

W/o looking @ it or knowning a little more its just a guessing game. Those cars under load cruising typically run 1200-1300 degrees.

well john and troy were right the timing belt is missing tons of teeth. The thing is i have no idea what caused this to happen as iwas just going into second from first and then boom t-belt acts up. so i wonder how bad the bottom end is and head.... well i will post later tonight when i pull the head...

Bottom end will be fine, just look at the pistons when you get the head off. There will be little dings in them, but don't worry about that. If one is cracked or broken then you have issues. Just get the valves replaced and a new belt and HG, and you're good to go.
I can tell you exactly why it broke like that............ it's a DSM! That's what they do.

Belt probably wasn't tensioned correctly or your tensioner went bad. When you were changing speeds of the engine, the belt probably got some slack and jumped/skipped/ripped itself apart.
