Finish your edumacation and get out of the realm of serving fat slobs.
On a lighter note, I work with a mentally unstable phyco-path who everyone at work thinks is rather hilarious when he freaks out and tells people he is going to slit there throat. I on the other hand think its rather ridiculous one should have to deal with garbage like that at work.

I cant believe for one second that washing dishes is the only thing you can do.Chill out.

i think the best response to something like that is to threaten (from experience). you make it very clear that the person who offended you has made themselves out to be a threat to personal safety (we both know how dangerous a wet floor can be in a fast food place) and you aren't going to take it anymore. the next time that he makes himself a threat to your personal safety, you won't be able to guarantee his.
management will just give the child some sort of written warning, which (from the sound of him) won't bother him, neither will a short suspension. he is the kind of child that only understands a couple of things: the real threat of violence is almost always a gamble that no one is willing to take.
although... this won't necessarily make your job a guarantee either, compromises make the world go 'round. -

I don't quite think you understand what i'm saying. I can do anything I want at McDonalds now (except stand on a ladder!). I CHOSE to do dishes because it keeps me away from customers, not because I was forced to wash them. I'm not restricted to just doing fast food really either, I could apply at Sunmart or Hornbachers too, but those are just as retarded in the long run. I'll be applying for jobs soon here at Valley Ford and such for auto detailing and stuff, but I won't be able to work them until I turn 18 in August. I know this because I already applied and they told me they can't hire 17 year olds and to reapply when im 18 or close to it.
Next, the kid and my manager. First off, the head store manager, Summer, wasn't there. Just 2 shift managers who are college aged kids, both are cool. This kid that sprayed me isn't some psychopath either by any means. He's one of those like shy kids that only start talking and shit after you get to know them. He knows us all well enough to openly talk about his magic card collection and other stuff like that. He's a nerd on crack now basically (not really on crack). I really don't want to get him fired or anything like that because if i brought it to Summer's attention not only would he get in trouble but both shift managers working would be punished as well as me for spraying him back and "possibly damaging equipment" or something. As of right now my phone is working, barely, after i let it dry overnight on a floor vent and blewdry it. He's off the hook right now, but I made it perfectly clear to him that he would be paying for the new on if this broke because I have proof that it worked before he sprayed me and witnesses that saw him douse me. I'll take it to court if I really have to, but I doubt it'll get that far.

ur gonna take a cell phone to court? dustin be realistic. having legit proof means nothing to him since he knows he did it. who are you gonna get to give u a new cell phone if he wont buy u one? mcdonalds wont buy u one. Either step up about it and ans say something to your manager or take the loss and move on.

Nah John we still have the old ghetto monitors. The only LCD one we have is in Drive Thru.
Joel I am being realistic. I know it wouldn't come to court anyways because id be going through every other means of him having to pay up before then, including telling Summer, which would only result in him getting punishment workwise..pointless. He doesn't have to pay for anything right now being as it's working but if he had broken it he would have been paying for a new one.
-
What, because of water damage or what? I haven't taken any screws off or anything...either way I don't care about the warranty, the kid would be buying the new one.
-
there is an indicator (usually behind the battery) that changes color when your phone gets wet.
-
just swap batteries, or buy another one.
