Shipping motorcycle to Canada...any advice?
-
I think I have a buyer for my bike, but he lives about 1500 miles away in Chilliwack, BC Canada. There is no way I'm going to deliver it to him, and he doesn't want to come get it due to the taxes he'll have to pay to get it across the border again. Anybody know of a shipping company that will deliver a motorcycle from US to Canada?

You are shipping a motor vehicle to a foreign country....someone is going to be paying importation taxes one way or another.
I'd be surprised if you were able to get it across the border in a crate. The only way you MIGHT be able to get around it is to drive there and drop it off yourself and let him deal with importation fees. (at least this is my guess)

There is no way around those fees. If he doesn't wanna pay then you'll need to find another buyer. Thats the trouble with importation of almost anything. All shipping companies are going to charge duties (from what I remember).

I thought those importation fees only include things made not in Canada/US/Mexico; for like a free trade deal. So therefore; if it's made in US it wouldn't have fees?
But maybe motor vehicles are a diff. situation. -
If you wanted to be creative, you could disassemble it and sell it as "parts only", and then mail the title separately. It would get you around some red tape because it's not a complete vehicle. Imagine the look on the buyer's face when he receives a huge box full of parts!
