i havent registered my bike in a while the only reason i do is because d-23 eduro's and hairscramble's require it due the track being on government property

i will never register my bike in ND, if they give me a legal place to ride it then i would consider it, at least when i register in MN they put it into trails and maitaining them, if u register ur car it goes to building/maintaining roads where does bike registration $$ go in ND when there is no place to legaly ride? other then some worthless suits pocket at the capital building

oh and as far as trails there is shit tons a state sponsered trails in MN most of d-23 races are on at least part of them

Everything you listed there, WAS ILLEAGAL!:icon_thumright: Why would you "HATE THE COPS" if they are doing there job and writing tickets for illeagal things. Your lucky they were nice about it and gave you warnings. But then again your still bitching about it.

Most cops just give out warnings, i have been pulled over a few times out past horace on my cr125 but they don't seem to care bad enough to give out any tickets but if they wanted to they can impound your bike, and it is legal to ride past 52nd ave. but they still want your bike to be registered

in 6 years I've been with volly EMS/Fire I have never seen an instance where a seatbelt did or would have caused a fatality. however I have seen multiple cases where a seatbelt would have prevented a LOT of injury - anywhere from being ejected 60+ feet or having appendages pinned under the vehicle.

the only time I can think of where a seatbelt would be a problem is in a water accident - mind you the seatbelt probably kept you from being knocked unconcious when you hit the water.

Yeah, I wear my seatbelt everywhere I go - it takes me all of 2 seconds. Hell, I do it purely out of habit now.

                Yeah.

I actually feel weird driving around Fargo/Moorhead or anywhere inbetween without it. I will admit, I don't wear it when I'm back home driving to work (mainly because I don't want grease and shit from my shirt/jacket on the seatbelt)

in my experience which is only one major accident i was told by the responding officer and the emt that if was wearing my sealtbelt i would be a lot worse off then i was, it was a roll over where the pass side is was sitting in was crushed down to almost the part of the seat where is ur ass sits, so the chances are if i was wearing my seatbelt i might not be arguing w/ u today

i also have a friend that was ejected from a wreck right before the car was turned into a small peice of metal from a 65-70 mph t-bone hit if he was still in the car it was almost certain he would have not been here today

so basicaly what im trying to say is if there is a law that says u have to do something not by free will the person or persons that made the law should be held responsible if this law can be proven to have caused a death

yes i understand that "most" of the time a seatbelt will save ur life but i dont think that somebody else has the right to make that decision for me

You are right, no one should have the right to tell you you have to wear it, I agree with that. But if you get into an accident and are injured severely and it can be proven that your injuries could have been prevented by the use of a seat belt, your insurance company shouldn't have to pay for your medical bills. Or at least that's how they see it and why we have the laws and safety features we do in cars today. Basically so it costs insurance companies less money. Go Insurance Lobbyists! Not saying it's all bad, just a possible rambling explanation from someone who needs a smoke...

knock on wood man, i've gotten a ticket every single time i've ever gotten pulled over...which would be 5 times (2 speed care bullshit, and one loud exhaust REALLY bullshit @ 8AM in the school parking lot making me late for class)...and i ALWAYS wear my belt too...for those of you who dont wear belts and use the excuse that it can sometimes kill you are stupid. The percentage of surviving with a belt is far greater than not...

I will never forget the time harwood got pulled over in moorhead and got a no seatbelt ticket because he had his race harness on...that was stupid (on the cops part IMO)

u do have a strong point but i believe that insurance companies shouldnt be insuring the conditions of the accident but the accident itself, if they can pay for someone rear ending u sitting at a stop light in a "no fault state" they they can insure u for choosing not to wear ur seatbelt

well other then that i got nothing, i think ya got me with that one

Are you saying that since your friend got ejected and lived, that seat belts are unsafe? That is ridiculous.

I also had a friend that wasnt buckled up and hit a deer at 70, then hit an approach he flew out of the car and the car landed right next to him he walked away...the car was completely smashed and he woudlve died if he wouldve stayed in the car...so in some instances not wearing a seatbelt can save you....not very likely though.

did i say they are unsafe? yes the percentage of a seat belt helping in a wreck is greater then not, i have personaly experienced a non seatbelt wreck

Harwood got pulled over on 10th st during a Fargostreet cruise. His harnesses were illegal. They were chained!

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

IIRC race harnesses are illegal on the street.
