ps3 or 360?
-
Right now 360 is more proven, PS3 is pretty new and software will be harder to come by in the short term. PS3 appears to be the more powerful platform, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be the best platform, and given its asking price it will take a while for that platform to truly take off (IMHO). Keep in mind that the xbox was superior to ps2 in almost every way, but was still not considered the king of that generation, I have a feeling the same might happen w/ PS3....oh and PS3 is (at last time I checked, admittedly a while ago) going to cost $499 to $699 and the xbox 360 can be had for what? $299 to $399. That should make the decision easier.

they actually cost 600 bucks, but you have to buy the hdmi cables which are like 40 bucks, plus a games controller etc, it could be close to 800-900 bucks you can end up spending

roomate owns a 360 and i like it so much i broke down and bought games and controllers for a system i dont even own

the ps3 is way better as far as just hardware goes, but like was said above, it all comes down to games. you can have the most powerful system in the world but it wont matter if the games suck.
i heard you can fry burgers on it to, while losing its fat content since its constructed like the foreman grill -
I really like the 360 right now, there seems to be an ever increasing amount of games for it that I am interested in. I do think that I will purchase a ps3 at some point, but it's going to have to be when there are more games and/or the price goes down a bit. I'll definately have both at some point because it seemed like the ps2 had certain genres of games that it excelled at (rpgs, strategy, driving) and so did the Xbox (action, fps, sports) so I think the ps3/360 situation might be the same. What I am really interested in is the Wii. I already know pretty much what sort of games I can expect from the other two systems, just with prettier graphics. I have no idea what sort of stuff to expect from the Wii. Nintendo has a knack for creative stuff. We'll see.

The 360 does get hot but it helps cooling if you set it vertically. Every 360 that I have herd of having a "melt down" was sitting horizontally. -
^^He was talking about the PS3 I think.

After some reading I found out that most of the xbox 360 hardware has more power than the ps3's hardware. I also found a article from a game designer explaining which console he prefers and why.

The only thing in the ps3 that still has my attention is the bluray player but ho well I guess.

360 > Wii > PS3 ??
