everyone was waaaaaaay too sceptical when the whole thing was introduced this past year or two and no one wanted to think about even playing it just because nintendo went downhill since SNES. all i can say is that The Godfather of games has returned with a vengance.
As for wiitards getting hurt, thats just it, they are plain retarded that they are getting themselves hurt. it isn't Nintendos fault at all, which is why they have warnings everywhere.

The games that come with the Wii like the bowling and boxing and stuff are sweet. But the actual games that you buy are take way to much effort and remembering all the shit to do is lame. The controller even with the sensitivity all the way down was really really picky on Red Steel. making the game not fun.

Anyone know the price of a Wii @ the stores? (Not Ebay prices)
I am kinda interested in getting one, but I wouldn't mind trying it out.. Any video rental place have the Wii console available for rental?

Also I was checking BestBuy for what they had for games; and it seemed like they had a lot of kids-like games, 1 sports game so far, and maybe 2-3 decent to good action game. -

I got a Wii on release day and I am having more fun with it than i have on a console system in along time. Zelda is amazing, Wii sports is surprisingly fun (I usually dont like sports games) Classic games are coming out at a faster rate. The only issue I have had with it was there is no wired Internet support available yet. WiFi is great though. Outside that the little box is packing a big punch and In my opinion it will give the other systems a run for their money.

Anyway, all article's indicate that current software on PS3 are mostly Xbox360 ports / developers can't exploit the PS3's hardware capabilities (many of which arent superior to 360)... and with BlueRay looking like a failure...
I'd opt for a 360 anyways

The Wii is really a traditional gamers system. I haven't really enjoyed games since my original Playstation. The Wii is WELL worth the 249.99 pricetag, and I wouldn't bother spending anything over the $600 pricetag of the PS3, and I would have a hell of a time paying the $600 off the shelf, when I can get a 360 or Wii and enjoy it much more. The market has dictated which system is better already. The PS3 was hot for about a week. Look on eBay, your $1800 was a waste of money. It's ok though, we understand you are trying to justify spending that load of money on a gaming system that will just go down in price...

No complaints from what I have heard for gamecube games not being able to be played. and for the innovation way of how you control the games is far superior to the 360 and PS3....just like the other two are far superior in graphics to the Wii. and like what others have said and commented on playing the PS3, the system doesn't go to its full potential, and from the complaints I have heard, it is having problems doing so with the current (and small) PS3 library of games. Only problem Wii owners have had a major issue with is their own lack of control and letting the Wiimotes go.

I paid 150 for the ps2 that I have and even though they have these "incredible" game systems out, I still won't go out and buy one. I think paying that much just for a way to waste time is a complete waste of money. I have better things to do with 1800 dollars then spend it on some machine that may have a few bugs in it.

I'll probably end up buying a wii, but was quite surprise that I couldn't find one in stock yesterday in Grand Forks. For some unknown reason, I was always under the impression that since this is a smaller market, there wouldn't be such a demand. I guess I was wrong on that assumption.
