He's right in regards to driveline parts. A rear end will last a lot longer in an auto car than it will in a manual. The manual shocks the driveline when it engages whereas the auto doesn't as badly.

Umm im pretty sure my transmission doesnt pick my gears.... I have a push button shifter that allows me to be in any gear i want. It wont shift untill i hit the button.
