Although not having owned a 240, if I did I would probably go KA-T.

Aren't the motors getting hard to find now?

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Ya, price for a complete SR swap with no basics and doing the labor your self is pretty much over 3k. and then you need the FMIC, guages, exhaust, the basic tune up stuff..... pretty much prices are starting to through the roof.

its getting to the point where the d-town guys are actually charging for there KAs when they pull them(not expecting anyone but tony to get that)

SLS is developing products for it right, now. not the sohc, the dohc. I have a dohc for sale, and you can get the 5-speed swap from Jeremy(how ever much you hate him or what ever).

IMO, start with a car with the motor you want to use. I didn't and sort of wish I did. I did the SOHC to DOHC swap and the auto-5speed(which is really easy.

The popularity of the SR has led to such INSANE price increases in parts, motors, etc. It's WAY more economical to go with a KA or CA.

S13 blacktop half cut prices have increased upwards of $2k over the last 3 years. I remember when you could get one for under $2k. Nowadays, you're lucky to finish an SR swap that doesn't cost more than $4k from start to finish.

I'd rather go KA over SR as well.

But I'd also rather go CA over KA. 😉
