Oh, and you ARE required to know the laws for the state that you are in. Ignorance, while commonplace, is not a justification for breaking the laws.

For example, if you are driving from North Carolina into Virginia with a radar detector, you are responsible for putting it away otherwise they will nail you on it.

While your car may be registered in ND, you are still responsible for the laws in the state which you are in.

Or if somebody drives their R33 or R34 Skyline into North Dakota they are breaking the law by having their car here. Afterall, that car doesn't comply with our nations laws. People do/have driven their Skylines from Canada here before. Perfect 10 is an example.

            K. R33 and R34 skylines are NOT legal in canada. PERIOD.(besides track/show only). They can drive there cars in the US when ever they want, if they couldn't they wouldn't be let across the boarder. just like all the other cars that came to the show, the 180sxs, ITR...

i still say the ticket wouldn't hold up in court if its something like tint/exhaust... shit that you can't just simply take off then re-apply

Haven't had a front plate for 3 years I think. Never got a ticket for it in the intrepid, cl or speed6. Been pulled over for over stuff of course but they've never mensioned it. Seriously nobody even knows what a speed6 is so hopefully they'll target the German car crowd, if they even do at all around here.

that does make sense you could probally get out of it in court with those fix it tickets or whatever they are called because if your back in your state nothin needs to be fixed, just throwing it out there i really got no idea

Chris I think your wrong on that part... use of a radar detecting device is a seperate law that often applies to motor vehicles, but the vehicle equipment laws apply to the state your car is registered in

I certainly could be wrong on this one. I just didn't see anything in the statutes that says otherwise

but is your tint ND legal? I know i have gotten an illegal tint in north dakota before when I had a car registered to Minnesota.

I have a friend whose cousin is a cop in GF and he was doing a ride around with him, and his cousin wanted to pull a suspicious car over but the only thing he could find illegal was black windows all the way around, but the car had alaska plates and since he didn't know alaskas tint laws, he couldn't pull them over for it is what he told my friend.

you can be legally ticketed in many states for a tint violation even if your not from that state

                                          http://home.pcisys.net/~bpc/auto_law/tint/

north dakota is one of them.....
