slightly bigger turbo

wheneever you get a new one...sell me your t25...i have a 14b for ya...but it needs a rebuild.

evo 16g (big 16g), you'll need bigger injectors + something to control them with (afc), and could really benefit from something other then a sidemount... and wait and see how long your stock clutch will last too...
a bigger turbo prob isn't one of the first things you'd want to do... you should look at getting some hard intercooler pipe, exhaust, afc, and then look at getting more in to it...

From what i have heard, you don't really have any other major mods, like something to tune it with, which you will need if you are going to change stuff. Get that stuff first, then upgrade the turbo.

hey potter ...
your best bang for the buck right now would be exhaust..!!! upgrading the turbo with stock exhaust would suck... get a gauge pod, hook up that boost gauge and a boost controller.
get a different bov !! if you dont listen to me i'll unfix your car. btw you owe me 10.00 for new spark plugs..
He already has an upgraded fuel pump and should be fine to turn up the boost to 17psi

Look on dsmtuner classifieds. I'd go so far as to say that you'd be just as happy with a 14b as with a 16g. The 16g will have a little slower spool up but won't run out of steam quite as fast as the 14b, but then again to max out a 16g you'll need some significant fuel mods. I'm rocking the 14b and after porting the exhaust side and o2 housing it spools up very nicely and the powerband is from around 2500-5500 which is nice for around town. I have the boost down to around 12-14 psi still from the winter, but before that I was running 17psi with just a fuel pump (wally 190, and then 3000gt pump, the 190 was loud) and ecu remapping. Im sure I could have done better with some dyno time to fine tune my fuel map (Logging pulls on country roads isn't really accurate) but my car was quick as shit at 17psi with a 14b.

You'll need basically the same stuff you'd need for any turbo swap. The difference is that with the 14b you can find everything you need used on dsmtuners.com and for a nice price. Plus there is ALOT of info as hundreds of people have done the 14b swap on thier 2gs. Theres prolly even a VFAQ on it somewhere.
I think you'll need either a new manifold or at least a new flange, the stock 2g flange for a t25 won't work with any of the mitsu turbos. aside from that, you'll need a boost controller (manual is easiest), a boost gauge, and a 14b turbo, o2 sensor housing, and you'll prolly need something to adapt your exhaust since the stock downpipe prolly won't fit the new o2 housing. I'd suggest going to DSMTUNERS.com and signing up for the forums and reading the info there. It's not hard at all so don't worry. -

except more then 1/2 of the 14b's you'll find are shot or will be soon after... i had a 14b on my 2g, it was fun, but if i could do it over again, i'd get a b16g w/ external gate + fmic and be done with itExcept didn't he say he didn't want to spend that much money? A new b16g, external gate, manifold w/ flange and welded internal w/g, fmic w/ piping, + additional supporting mods needed over the basic 14b setup is a pretty serious chunk of change amirite?
As far as finding good turbos, I got lucky and found a rebuilt one complete with actuator and o2 housing for a song, and never had a problem with it. Its a matter of having the patience to look around, and the luck not to get ripped off vs. the price of a brand new setup.
I'm a friggen expert at finding good used parts and tuning on a budget if I do say so myself. Most, if not all of the mods on my car are preowned and are working very well. If you need help finding something I'd be glad to lend a hand.

wait wait wait... hold on jest a sec. i completley failed to read the thread. I think I saw you say that you are doing this because people are 'telling you to upgrade'??? so you haven't yet squished the potential out of that t25 yet? and you don't have an exhaust? okey nevermind everything I just said, stop worrying about impressing your boyfriends, and start tuning your damn car. Better yet, give your car to me, and get something better, you need an upgrade!!
