2000 Durango- window and locks
-
I am wondering if anyone speciallizes in keyless entry and power windows. I have a 2000 durango with keyless entry and when I push the buttons to lock or unlock the drivers side is sticky,(makes a horrible noise too) the rear passenger doesn't unlock and also the rear passenger window doesn't work. Anybody wanna help me out or know of someone that would charge a reasonable amount ot fix this?
Thanks,
Derek -
durango/dakotas are known for having bad lock actuators. as for the window, remove the door panel, disconnect the connector and check to see if power/ground goes to the switch when you hit the switch. if not, you have a bad wire or switch somewhere. if so, then the window regulator/motor assembly is bad, which is also known for going out in those.

screwdriver and your hands, easier with panel removal tools so you dont break the plastic clips. dont remember much, but it might just lift up also.

Well I read on the durango/dakota forums to slam the door or loosen the bottom bolt on the regulator, well needless to say the slamming of the door seemed to have done the trick. Next on to the actuators! Might go to the junk yard and test a few! See if there are any good ones instead of wasting $65 for a new one...not sure, maybe the new ones are better now!
