Racing harnesses (even FIA approved) are very rarely legal seatbelts, if ever.

You will be fine using harnesses as seatbelts, and the police will not hassle you. However I would recommend a harness bar. SLS would be able to build you one that would be bolted to the top portion where your stock seatbelts used to go, with a mounting tab for your seatbelts. You can also purchase them from some places as well.

You're probably best off just getting normal 3 pt belts that go with the car.

You could have the harnesses use the factory belt mounting points for the lap belt, and some 4pt units are setup so that the shoulder belts use the rear seatbelt anchors via extra buckles.

There's a pretty divisive opinion on if its even safe to use harnesses in a car without a roll hoop. In a non-hooped car, if you roll wearing a harness, you're going to break your neck. A 3pt belt lets your torso slide out of the way a bit.

My track car has a 4pt roll bar with harness bar.

I'm pretty sure people on this board have been fined for using harnesses instead of seatbelts.

I've been pulled over and never had issues using harnesses. Although at the same time, my harnesses were mounted to a cage inside the vehicle, haha.

Seatbelts are in the door on that model, so I dont think u could mount the harnesses in the stock location, if it was an 88 or 89 hf or dx they have pillar mounted belts and you could attach the harnesses to that, my friend has something like that in his ek coupe. I have been wondering this as well, I would like to get some harnesses someday for my car.

Ahh in that case you would have to weld a plate to the b pillars behind the plastic, and then cut and notch the plastic around a permanent harness bar. I'd probably just find stock seatbelts.

I just remembered that I have a set of doors (kinda rusted so u probably dont want the whole door) that'll work with the seatbelts in them. But if you want the seatbelts out of them lmk and we can work something out.

I might have to do that... I was looking at a few harness bars off of ebay for 200 bucks.... Maybe i can get my mom to just buy that for me until i get more money...

Because it would be easier to just get the harness bar or find a way to hook up the harness's without the bar
