I've seen tons of stock water pumps take a dump after long term use of 75% or more coolant mix. I would avoid if possible.

Antifreeze/coolant does not do it's job as well nor as efficiently when used by itself just like water doesnt do as good straight either. I'd use either alone only temporarily.

I think that i read somewhere that straight antifreeze works better for heat transfer, but is like a "racing only" brake pad. You have to get it all heated up, then drive the piss out of it, then flush the system. Oh, and it's harder on your engine for some reason.

im sure the viscosity of straight coolant compared to straight water is quite a bit different. Running striahgt coolant would definitly bring your boiling point up, but who wouldwanna run that hot anyways. just buy 50/50.

yeah thats what i thought, but i just wanted to know cuz i was in a pinch the other day where a coolant hose came off and all i had was coolant so i just did straight coolant.

Why in the fuck would you buy it 50/50? You are paying the same price, if not more for half of the coolant mixed with water.,

your paying for 100% distilled water mixed with it, which is what is to be used in your coolant system. Although, depending on the manufacture (chrysler specifically), the coolant comes straight 100% coolant....yet Honda is 50/50 mixed.

Meh, I'd rather buy my 100% coolant for the same price and spend a dollar on a gallon of distilled water. Either way, pre-mix is a big fucking ripoff.

yes i agree with you that paying the same price seems a little rediculious, but at the same time its not like its expensive and is a lot more handy to have it already mixed when you need it

exactly. in a case like this, the convienience out weighs the cost factor a lot. Only thing reason why you would need pure antifreeze is if you have an application that requires it, or you have massive leaks to where you go through it constantly....which in that case, get the damn leak(s) fixed and stop polluting. I dont wanna be drinking your antifreeze in my tap water.

doesn't take a genius to buy each part and mix it yourself and stick it in the trunk.

well i'm super lazy and kinda like the premix shit.... it is like all you retards who buy bottled water or hell gatorade? why not go mix/ bottle it yourself?

sometimes it is nice to not have to think or put forth any sort of effort on something so easy as poring in coolent that is mixed 50/50

I like to save my money that I would blow on pre-mix coolant and buy something else.

                              1 gallon of premix = $8
                              1 gallon of straight anti-freeze = $7
1 gallon of water = free or $1 if you use distilled

Hmm, I can get 2 gallons for the price of 1 gallon of premix. Fuck premix.
