Who are they profiling and how do you know they are profiling? Sounds like you're the one who doesn't understand the concept.

Its not profiling if they catch a group of people breaking the same laws. That would be like saying "Geez, the cops caught me and 5 of my buddies driving drunk leaving the bar over the course of of a summer...it must be because they don't like our mad-tite-vtack."
The question I have for you Torbs is this:
Did you get a ticket for actual non-law conforming violations? based on what you said here, I believe you received a legit ticket:

Fuck this shit...I got a ticket less than 2 weeks ago from J. Liebl officer #220 for tint and no front plate at fucking 620AM on my way to fucking work...I smell profiling. If you set your car up illegally, you are basically inviting the tickets/harassment. Is everyone going to get a ticket that has no front plate? No, probably not, but I do know domestic car owners that have gotten the same tickets you are complaining about.
To sum it up again, it is not profiling if they happen to catch you doing something illegal.

I don't get tint tickets in my Denali.

-
It goes both ways. If you have illegal tint/no front plate and get ticketed it for it, you deserve it as you are obviously breaking the law (regardless of how pointless some may be).
All the nay sayers also have to realize that if you're driving around in a lowered civic/mustang/whatever type of sports car you drive and are between the ages of 16-25 you are MUCH more likely to be cited for the violation than a mom in her blacked out minivan or someone like GSR in his Denali.

Ok Chuck...apparently you need me to spoon feed this to you...It was on a monday morning at 620AM and happened 2 times within 3 weeks. Both on my way to or from work. If it was 2AM and bar closing time then I could really care less because I'm asking for it...but in broad daylight on my way to or from work?...c'mon. That and I had my windows rolled down with the 620AM one and he supposed that beings my back windows were dark that my front ones were also dark too...then he acted like a total powertriping dickhead to me.
Have you ever gotten tickets for your insanely loud exhaust or anything else related to your WRX?...I'm willing to bet not...and if you have it isn't to the extent that us young people have to deal with. Don't go on and say "well I drive nicely all the time"...everytime the last 2 years I've gotten pulled over, I wasn't speeding, driving stupidly, or anything of the sort. If you were say 10 years younger, you'd be harassed just as we are...but due to your continuously sagging balls you can get away with it...simple as that.
I'm not blamming you or anything btw...I'm just stating that because you are older, you don't get as much shit as us younger people do. Also, when you were our age, cops were more leniant that what they are now...so don't say "well i was once that age and know what it's like"...When you were 20 is far different from being 20 now...
And for the record...a cop can say nearly anything and make it a legit ticket...we all know that. It isn't rocket science. Modding your car in any way, shape, or form is illegal technically, but it isn't enforced to the T because people would protest against law enforcement and the gov't. Your body kit is illegal, lowering your car is illegal, your "non-stock" exhaust unless it comes with a CARB and 50 state legal sticker is illegal, upgrading your turbo unless it is CARB or 50 state legal is illegal...and this is just YOUR CAR I'm listing things from...So Chuck...as far as I'm concerned, your car has far more legal issues than my car does if you wanna play the whole "your car must be illegal" game which you seemingly want to do when you said "If you set your car up illegally, you are basically inviting the tickets/harassment." The statement is true to a point...but you also have to consider ones age too, along with other factors I'm sure you are smart enough to figure out.
Summary: My car, according to the law, has less illegal things than Chuck's...yet I get harassed for it more...weird how that works, isn't it?
EDIT: one more thing...I can't believe you actually tried to compare a group of car people to people driving drunk...the two are not related at all. That's like saying tinted windows are just as dangerous as driving plastered...
-
I also had my windows down when he went by me, and still did when he pulled me over....all 4 of them actaully, and he still made me roll them up.
also, no where in town can you get tint that will make your window 50%.
Every single window is darker than 100% clear so as soon as you put 50% tint on it, it will turn out somewhere between 40-49% and you'll get a ticket because its illegal.

Have I ever gotten a ticket for exhaust w/ my WRX? Nope, not once. I have been pulled over twice for no front plate (warning and ticket were outcome...I deserved the ticket even though I was the only car ticketed out of about 1000 in the area that didn't have plates), once for exhibition driving (BOV was causing a disturbance...fought that one, lost....REALLY long story, it didn't happen in Fargo though so I'll leave the details out).
Part of the reason I don't get many tickets in Fargo (my opinion) is I don't race/rev on the streets, I always use my signals, I hardly ever drive it (once this summer total). Speeding(interstate), Noise (exhaust and stereo) & plates are the three things I'd likely get pulled over for if anything on my car...ok and cats, but they won't know that til pulled over anyway....
I don't think it is the age issue either, I get carded REGULARLY for lotto tickets...like every other week. So I apparently don't look much older than many of you guys. If you get caught multiple times on the same street on the way to work, well my thought is that you and the cop probably take the same routes to work regularly and he KNOWS that you didn't repair/replace the items you were ticketed for so he views you as disregarding his authority so he keeps hammering the point home.
BTW, body kits are not illegal. nor are wings, aftermarket suspension (unless vehicle is too low/high), etc.....50 state legal means it can be legally driven in every state and is NOT required in states that don't have laws regarding the addition of such parts/accessories.

This is 100% correct. Therefore it is illegal to tint your front windows EVERY time.

Didnt you get a ticket in Devils Lake, 10$ for loud exhaust? and as he was writing it like 10 harleys drove by and you pointed out that they should get tickets for having even louder exhausts?
