Robert Odegaards p51 "Dazzling Donna" was involved in a runway collision yesterday, another p51 (i beleive it to be Gerry Beck's) ran into Dazzling Donna from behind and flipped and exploded while landing in formation, Killing the pilot. The media is saying the involved are a father, son team, i am hoping they are wrong, But....... Sadly all involved are from the area, Gerry Beck is from Whapeton and Robert and KC are from Kindred. I saw pictures on the news and my mind kept telling me thats not Dazzling Donna, But i ran the n registry numbers in the FAA site and sure as can be, it came back to Odegaard. Please keep them in your thoughts. http://www.nbc26.com/news/local/8772112.html

It was at the EAA Airventure 07 in Oshkosh Wisconsin.

From what I've gathered here, our local crop duster (and guy we all know) is co owner in Odegaard's plane. Many times have I been buzzed in the field . Was probably those two that flew formation over town during our 125th celebration...

just had a nice story on the news too...

                  Son of a bitch!!!

Gerry was the nicest guy. He gave me a ride in the TBM Avenger years ago.

My heart goes out to the family.

My blueprint intstructor was good friends with both parties and talked about it quite a bit in class on friday. The stories he told about him were just amazing. Beck sounded like a very smart man. RIP
