DUI

A couple of you guys know already but i got a DUI last thursday. Went to woody's after work had a few drinks and was driving downtown to do some serious drinking, broke the tires loose leaving an intersection got pulled over and blew a .12 GAY!!!!! I talked with an attorney, who wants $2500, who said i probibly get it reduced but he won't take my case unless I can come up with $1500 up front. DOUBLE GAY!!!!!! So the cat is going to get a 91 day vacation GAY GAY GAY!!!!!!!!!! Probibly longer until I can pay all the fines off. Oh well thats the fucking I get for the fucking I got.

Why were you driving downtown to do some serious drinking? So you could drive back home after being done with your serious drinking?

If so, I'm glad they nabbed you at .12 instead of .22. I hate it when cops hassle people, and I don't like how much of our individual liberties that MADD has managed to take away, but you sound kind of like you needed to get pulled over.

I don't want to be too judgemental... so what part of the story am I missing? Were you expecting some sympathetic voices here?

You dontr really wanna wish someone your sympathy for doing something stupid, but you also kinda feel for them since it could financially fuck someone for a while, granted you could've also killed someone in the process.

Your first DUI is just a slap on the wrist. Pay your fine and after 30 days get a work permit and then 60 days after that you get your license back. The worst part about is filing a SR22 (high risk insurance for 3 yrs.) I got my DUI 3 years ago and just got of off high risk insurance.

Believe me it could be alot worse. You live and you learn, just don't get a second DUI.

I had every intention of taking a cab home later and honestly I felt fine. If I had just eaten something I would have been just fine. I guess this is what comes around for all the time I drove home wasted when I was at NDSU and didn't get pulled over.

I got pulled over. Blew a .086. Spent a grand on a lawyer who thought we'd get it knocked down. City prosecutor didn't accept. I got screwed.

Oh well I'm not gonna sweat it too much I only pay for liability on and 88 Cougar my insurance can't go up that much. Plus I turn 25 in may so it will go down again anyway.

Ummm....expect your liability to skyrocket, if you can even still get liability through a normal source. Turning 25 will help, but not as much as you think, you still have the worst driving offense known to man on your record (short of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated)

Who's looking for pity? Just telling my side of the story is all. I completly agree with you guys, I'm not saying I don't deserve it it's just disappointing that I get arrested for blowing a .12 and ten minutes later they bring in some drunk bosnian douche that was hammered, .28 I think, could hardly stand, and had already hit someone else's car. I won't know how much lube I'm gonna need till thursday at 1:30. So save the self rightious bs

Piece of advice going forward....ALWAYS refuse the Breathalyzer in favor of a blood test....and then find a DAMN good DUI attorney after that. I'm not saying I've never drank too much and then drove...and aside from that .12 wasn't too far over the legal limit of just a few years back (.10)

THis is also what I have heard. It buys you some time to work some alchohol out of your system if you think you are on the edge. could've possibly worked for you josh. Sucks when us big guys drink, are over the legal limit and aren't even barely drunk.
P.S. this doesnt apply to me anymore as I drank 1 1/2 pounders at Smitty's house and felt drunk. haha.
